Hey guys just wanted to share a little build that is currently underway. I've had her for almost a year just rolled over 60k so I decided it was time for a cam and some head work! The cam i'm going with here is the 228R 112 LSA from TSP and just getting the 241s ported/polished milled to .035. Doing the intake/exhaust valve job and cut for 2.02/1.57 valve as well. There's the other usual things that go with any other cam swap which is in my signature down below. More updates to come!!
Had this sitting around since september..lol
More pics
A bit dirty for sure..time for a cleaning

You should get an LS6 valley/pcv set up since you have it tore down that much. It will get rid of the pcv lines you have running from behind the intake and up the side of the passenger head. You may be one of the lucky 2002 owners and have an LS6 block. If so you won't have to cut the notch out on the driver's side block in the valley.

Thank a lot, i'll definitely be looking into it more. I found this thread off LS1.com http://www.ls1.com/forums/f6/explain...ct-mod-156010/ so it should be pretty useful. Also had a vacuum leak so this should be fixed in the process as well and the car was build in the last month of production

Just some more pics of the heads off here. Before all of the work began..
The heads are currently at the machine shop for porting, making room for the 2.02/1.57 valves, and being milled to .025 instead of the .035

looks good man def get the ls6 valley cover. you also have an ls6 block, you can tell by looking at the pic with the valley cover. behind the water pump on the block ls1's have "bullseye" casting marks in them whereas ls6's like yours are flat. so literally the only thing you need is the cover no cutting required

I'm trying to achieve around 420 but we'll see
I was debating on doing this but no i'm pretty convinced. Have you done this?

Easy way to check is looking inside the valley if you have the plate removed. If you have lines in it, you'll be cutting an ear off the inside of the block. If it's smooth, nothing to cut.
There were other LS1 blocks produced that are NOT an 1168 LS6 block, but are identical in every aspect, no bullseyes included, and smooth valleys.
