What is this cam like? 228/235 .614/.621 111 LSA
I am searching for the right cam. I have a LS1 T56 1991 camaro. The car is a daily driver and I want a cam with a lopey idle, that will be tons of fun on the street. I am hoping to get atleast 400rwhp with the cam, stock heads, headers, ORY w/ cutout, and other bolt ons. I will install the appropriate rear gears for the cam.
With that said, I came across this video. The car has the exact idle I want, the owner says it is a Comp Custom Grind, but doesnt say much other than that.
He states that he made around 478rwhp full bolt on with aftermarket heads.
How will this cam perform as far as street manners, under the curve, and etc?
Around how much hp am I looking at with full bolt ons?
As of now I am going with the Vengeance VRX4, but am still open to other camshafts.

It all depends on preference to be honest. Some people are going to say its to much for a dd and other will say its not. In my opinion the vrx4 would be more ideal for a dd. It will still have that choppy idle you want but not real hard on valvetrain. You are also a 6 speed so you can get away with a bit bigger lift and duration came then an auto car too so keep that in mind. My suggestion would be to try to find someone around you with a cammed ls1 and take a ride in it and see how it idles and drives. Then go from there

That lift looks like a DD spring killer to me. For DD, I'd go for more duration & less lift. This way, you're not using up springs for no reason while driving daily. Just an opinion & my personal preference. Good dual springs are a terrible thing to waste. If frequent spring changes are ok w/ you then go for it. Rule of thumb is change @ around 20k. You may spend 15k miles out of 20k using 'em up in around town driving.

Contact Martin at Tick Performance, he can custom spec you a cam, or you can go with their SNS TorqueMax Stage 2 cam.
