I'm running LS7 lifters in both of my ls engines havent had any problems. The LS7 lifters in my LM7 - 5.3L i rebuilt 3 years ago are almost to the 100,000 mile mark. The LS7 lifters in the LS1 have about 10,000 miles on them @ 550+ rwhp.

As said above measure for push rod length is a must. I soak my lifters for a day or two before I put them in the moter, assembly lube on the cam and I dump oil on the rockers and down the push rod holes before the rocker cover go back on... Just my $.02

I ordered a set of LS7 lifters. After thinking about how I was just going to put stock back in anyway plus many recommendations I figured it'll work.

I don't soak for a long period, but I basically do the same as you.

What I meant was OF the lifters he sells, he's had more calls about them.

There's no doubt in my mind whatsoever that the Morel is a top lifter. It just is. Stricter tolerances and a thorough QA/QC.

For a lot of people it's a question of price, and I'm simply stating I've had good results with LS7 lifters.

You can bet my next set will be either Morel's or Johnson's. But there's no reason to "fear" an LS7 lifter, and for most people it fits the bill.

Of everyone who has Johnson lifters I have probably the mildest valvetrain. I do plan to beat the snot out of them tho... As does everyone else who bought them.

I too ran the LS7's, putt about 30k on them with no problems, H/C and Nitrous setup with countless 6800-7000k pulls. We all know it is all about the setup. Dont cut corners and do all the measurements. I will be running the "dreaded" caddi race lifters here shortly. Also I laugh when I read "the LS7 lifter is not a performance lifter", it is only in a 427ci small block that spins to 7000k from the factory.....

That has 60g valves, very mild lobes, etc. So yes, it's a performance lifter in the right application. An LSK lobe with 115g valves is not the same...

My bad. When I said don't cut corners I meant use the proper valve train setup. Got away from the OP topic.
