eBay CAI?? whats your input everyone? so looking at these cheap $50 kits how can you go wrong? at the worst ditch the filter but use the tubing?

If it was made by one of the bigger named companies it would be marked up 200%. Most CAI are nothing but less restrictive filters over the stock filter. CAI is also a misnomer, it should be AAT (ambient air temp). You don't call a ceiling fan, air condition.

yes i understand good point. i know that the piping will heat up and not necessarily be a (cold air) induction but the fact that the intake elbow doesnt fold over the fan shroud like a pancake with a big resonator on it to rob all of your throttle response. basically i was told by my engine tuner that the new elbow that connects to the TB will make a diff on flow into the intake.
so quality for quality theres not a astronomical difference?

Run it I have one spectra that cost $159.00 4inch tube.i brought one off eBay no name brand for $59 same size tube,filter and everything dynoed both same horsepower between both I wish I had of brought the eBay one first
I've been running that same cai for years on my truck no complaints. The Silverado sierra cai s are fine but I have installed them china cai s on other vehicles and they required modifications there is no quality control over there. If its a vehicle that's not super expensive and fit and finish does not have to be perfect go for it.

OP, you usually get what you pay for with anything. I would check out the SLP cold air induction kit, but if you aren't into having a lid, the volant cold air intake has proven to show nice gains.
