Daily Driver Cams
I always thought this before and i still do now. As much lift as you can reasonably stuff into the head, a mid duration and a wider LSA and you will have enough power to keep you at discount tire or tire rack for a while.
The autos then are the funnest when it downshifts into first and you get that rush when the stall flashes and the torque hits hard. Prob the most fun you can have with your clothes still on. Alot better than some big nasty slobbering cam that peaks and is done with. I dont want a firecracker in my ride.
3000 TQ,3.73 gears,TR220 114LSA with mild ported heads.was fun as hell on the street,no surging at all.pulled like a beast from about 2000 rpm on up.
that being said,I would suggest an FTI(Ed Curits) 220/224 112lsa with a 3200 TQ,and if funds permit,get the 3.73 gears.

I find the smaller cams like the 224 and 228 have more usable power for the kind of driving I do. Everyone loves 6500 wot runs but I need to be able to punch it at 2500 rpm and have the car get it's *** moving.
A 224/228/.580/.580 112+4 cam would be a very good choice with either trans. As it only has 2* overlap, it will have very nice manners.
And stay far away from fast lobes like XER, LSK etc. Give Kip a call at Cam Motion for a smooth, quiet lobed cam. Nothing is more annoying than a ticking/clattering valve train.

Picked up a set of 2001 Z06 243s. Ported and polished.
Fast92/92 intake and TB.
Did a base run on the stock motor now and got 327Hp and 332 TQ. So once everything is finished Ill post results. Just trying to locate a good Stall for the street.
There area many many trains of thought when it comes to specing a cam. No one is 100% right.
