Default BTR stage 2 cam

Hey guys , I previously sold my old car which had ported and milled 241 heads with a lunati 220/224 cam in an automatic trans and have now moved onto a M6. This time I have opted for a BTR stage 2 (227/234) camshaft. I didn't want to go the stage 3 as I like to keep a bit of more low to mid range power rather than top end. Heads still stock at this stage. Has anyone else got this cam in a ls1 ? Was it a good choice cam ?

Thanks

Proven valve events on that cam. I think you made a good choice.

I just put in a similar cam, 226/236 112+4 and it still drives fine.

You have less overlap in yours, so it should drive pretty well.

Sounds like a great cam. Mines a little bit bigger but great driveability and midrange tq.

My cam is similar; 227/235 110 LSA and the drivability is good and it hits really hard in the mid-range and carries all the way to 6700 RPM's. The tune will dictate how well the car drives.

Default Update

Just an update. I had the BTR stage 2 cam installed in my ls1 along with hardened pushrods and the BTR platinum spring kit.
The cam has fantastic driveablity. A great sounding cam with a nice lope. Highly recommend this camshaft for a daily driver.

Was installed in an Australian Holden Commodore VY SS , 6 speed manual , 3.46 gears.

I Had 1 5/8" Tri-Y headers, 200 cell 2.5" hi flow metal cats, twin 2.5" cat back system (incl 2 centre mufflers and rear resonator) and an over the radiator style air intake installed at the same time as cam. (has Standard 241 heads, ls6 intake etc).

After dyno tune, it resulted in a gain of 111 rwhp.

A great gain for cam with Exhaust, air intake and tune !!

I know what you mean. I've had mine for a while now, so I've got used to the power level and now I want more. It's never ending.
