Default What else do I need to do my H/C install?

I have my heads complete ready to install as well as a cam package. What else do I need? I still have to buy a oil pump, head bolts, new gaskets, & under drive pulley. Do I need head studs and lifters? What about new fuel injectors? Can you also recommend sponsors here for the parts needed? My car has 105k miles also. I believe I need to replace the rear main seal due to a oil leak.

You don't need studs unless you're going to throw a lot of boost on it, but definitely get some ARP bolts. You don't need lifters, but it's a good and relatively cheap (compared to everything else) upgrade for peace of mind. This is especially good if your old ones have a lot of miles. Better to do it now when you have the heads off already than having to do all that work just for the lifters. Also get some LS2 lifter trays.

Depending on the size of the cam and heads you probably will hit the limit of your stock injectors and should upgrade those to something bigger.

I would do ls7 lifters and ls2 trays and the trunnion upgrade. Your tuner will let u know if u need fuel system upgrades. Im on stock pump with my setup and just 36lb injectors

Do the lifters your a 99 and 100k. The Brian tooley lifters a just a tad more money and have a slower leak down than the off the shelf LS7 lifters. The ls1 to ls6 intake valley mod is good but you have to be real careful because you have to cut a small piece in the valley to make it fit.

I'd say if you got a mellow cam and no headers you could prob . get away with keeping the stock injectors for now if money was an issue and always upgrade with that next, but then again you would also have to pay for another tune... I had a c5 FRC stock heads with a 230/236 cam, ls6 intake and LG headers & Xpipe and it never missed a beat on the stock injectors w/ 389WHP and that thing was a crazy beast.

How do the Lunati/morel link bar lifters compare to the LS7's?

SSmokin,

What heads you go with? I just received my Livernois Motorsports LS6 head. I got the timing chain, oil pump, injectors, gaskets, head bolts. I also got LS7 lifters. But im wondering if i should even put them after hearing issues people have with them.

Just some ported LS6 heads. I'm reading up on the Lunati/morel link lifters, but still unsure.

The Morel lifters are built of better material, to closer tolerances, and subjected to better quality control. They are presumably more reliable. The boat people, who run motors at high rpms for hours use them. They do have a narrower preload window than the LS7s and cost a lot more. If you have the coin buy them.

I am not sure, prices vary from time to time - I would have to go shopping. (I bought mine in 2010).

They are built better than the LS7's, however if you use heavy valves, high pressure springs or not enough spring, aggressive lobes with flimsy pushrods that results in an unstable valvetrain... even the Morel's will hate life. The combo is important. I've seen some guys run pretty wild RPM on LS7 lifters with no problems because of a well thought out valvetrain.

Ok, now it's time for my under drive pulley. How's the ASP 25% under drive & a new belt that will work with it? Also, I need recommendations on oils pumps. Any suggestions? After these 2 purchases all I'll need is my ARP head bolts and everything will be set to do the install.

I like the Melling 10295, unless you intend to run any external oil system components such as remote or dual oil filters, oil coolers, or oil accumulators (e.g. Accusump) in which case I like the Melling 10296 high volume pump.

The LS2 LS7 lifters are the same. We use them with great success with our camshaft packages on street cars. Don't confuse them with the CTSV-R's. (racecar stuff)

Do you have a link to his LS7 lifters? All I need as far as gaskets go is header, heads, & water pump right guys? How about timing cover?
