I am seriously considering the torquer v2 cam from texas speed and had a few questions. my motor is mostly stock just have tb coolant bypass. slp flow pack and hooker headers. I am in the hunt for a ls6 intake as of now and am ready for a cam I have all the gaskets, ls2 timing chain and spl oil pump so my question is how do people like it? my car needs to be very street friendly i dont go to the track much but I want a little more power nothing crazy and a idle lope like you know the cam is there but good drivability. The car is by no means a daily driver I just want it to be fun and sound good

im running it with a manual and ls7 clutch with 4.10s, it gets a little surge in low speed like trying to coast around a parking lot but otherwise it drives fine and has a nice thump to it. and as far as stock gears vs 4.10s i couldnt tell you bc im pretty sure i had the 4.10s before the cam. but if i had to guess id say it helps with the cam surge and helps it hit its powerband faster.

what kind of power difference's would i see between the 228r and torqurer v2? because like i've stated im looking for very streetable but I want some more power and as everyone I want that lopy sound. I do want to run heads down the road so I want the cam to be able to match a good head.

well thats some good info to know. I may call texas speed and talk to them. I just seems like one of those things I can ask A 100 people and get different answers but these two seem about where i want to be as far as drivability wise

im sure surge and all imperfections of driveability can tuned out if you address them to your tuner but it doesnt bother me due to being a cammed cruiser . it just seems to me that the 228r is a very safe zone that everbody chooses . anyhow good luck with your decision fyi- my car did trap 116 when i had the ls6 intake on it with 4.10 gears bogging it out the hole

have one in an fbody, manual trans. Good cam, i'm happy with it. Paired with a monster stage 3 clutch its a bit too lumpy for the Houston rush hour commute, but I think that is mainly due to the clutch being so aggressive.

What kind of power ranges at what rims are both these cams going to at? When I originally called you guys I was recommended the v2. Also how is the sound on the 228r I want it to sound similar to an old muscle lope sound
