Default Engine at an angle?

Hopefully this is the right place to ask this...

I'm putting an LM7 in an RX7 FC and I've cut the firewall to mount the engine very far back(it's fully mid engined...front of heads is 2" behind the towers). The problem is that the oil pan is not clearing the powersteering and I don't feel like relocating or reshaping it for now.

With the t56 jacked all the way up, the engine still sits at a slight angle; maybe 10-15 degrees. Is that bad for the engine? I assume it's not since the oil pickup is in the back but wanted to be sure.

Thanks in advance
Also let me know if you know of a cheap-ish dry sump system or have any other advice on the fitment.

Is the FC rack in front or back of the wheel hub? Rack clearance is always an issue with the V8's.

10-15* isn't bad but not ideal. I'm sure you could get plenty of info on the norotors forum.

Doesn't really need to be in another forum. His question is about the orientation of a Gen III motor. Seems a good enough place as any.

10%-15% tilt is pretty far...
you really want to be less than 5%

People on norotors fit it normally, as in don't cut the firewall, so this doesn't really apply to them. It fits much nicer that way but I wanted to do something different. They also use a custom subframe which I was trying to avoid making.

So can anyone tell me why it's not optimal? Oil feed is the only reason that comes to my mind and I don't believe it's an issue...if anything, it should be getting more!

If you've gone this far, why not do it right? Who wants to pop the hood and see an engine sitting ****-eyed?

Not to mention with 10-15 degrees your pinion angle is going to probably be an issues.

Pinion angle makes sense...Guess I'm doing it right-ish
I'll first try to mount the trans a bit higher, and if that's not enough, I'll do something about the subframe.

Thanks guys
