Default OEM Cam Chart by SN and lift duration specs

So bang for the buck, what is the best OEM cam still available to reach the magic 400HP+ mark on an otherwise stock LS1? I see several cams were available, LS9 or even the illusive ZR1 cam?
Is there a chart with PN and cam specs available? Especially one with expected outputs with specific injectors.

Also I see the Yellow Flex Fuel Injectors have a greater output rating, anyone running these?

Default Big Lift OEM LS CAM

I think I found my cam, the "LS9 CAM" for those still looking:

Anyone know if the "Yellow" LS6 valve springs will mate well with this cam?

It doesn't have a cam position reluctor on the back, so if you want to use it in a LS1 you'll need the front cover with the cam position sensor and the harness extension. We have the front cover for $89 http://www.briantooleyracing.com/ls2...-12633906.html

I don't think you'll reach 400 rwhp with that cam on a LS1.

Default LS9 cam swap in LS1, comprehensive part Number (HELP)

So... then
The short list to install an LS9 Cam in a 2000 LS1, (Or any early truck LS engine), with GM parts bin parts.
  • Cam-LS9--GM PN # 12638427
  • Valve Springs for 560 lift PN #
  • (Rocker arms 1.8 ratio LS9 Optional) PN#
  • LS2 front cover with sensor PN#
  • Harness extension for front cover LS2- PN#
  • LS2 Cam Chain, PN#

LS9 CAM has fewer bolt holes (Not a 3 hole cam) so appropriate bolts etc.?

Anything else? Before the power adder?

The LS9 cam has a 3 bolt pattern identical to the LS1.

I wouldn't run 1.8 rockers with this cam, the intake opening ramp has as much intensity as a Comp XE-R lobe. I know a guy who broke a Comp 918 spring in 1500 miles with this cam using stock rockers. Bear in mind this cam was designed for a head with titanium intake valves, not solid stem steel valves.

Brian-
Thanks for the info, does that timing cover come with the crank sensor attached,... nothing else to buy? (Except the harness extension).

Also is the Crank Trigger harness extension a GM part as well?

Your second thread and my second attempt to get this topic over to where it belongs Please don't start another in External Engine or they'll all be locked down.

What you see in the picture on the website is what you get. The cover, sensor, gasket, bolts and the small wiring harness.

We don't have the extension harness.

You're not going to hit 400rwhp with a ZR1 cam unless you have pretty much every other bolt-on already installed (headers, lid, intake manifold etc.)

The GM ASA cam is your best bet.

1- Forget about I want 400 hp mark with OEM cams in LS1.
2- Establish where you wish to make power in the rpm range, (where will you use it), based on the answer to that search for a cm that fits that rpm range.

I am not stuck to the 400hp, I'm more after the torque numbers as this is for "Short course Auto-x Good Guys style", but did I not see a Powernation/Engine program with a junk yard 4.8 and LS2 heads with a 566 intake, 576 Exh cam reaching "394hp 274Tq EFI" or "377hp with a 650CFM" carb?.

Cheap and fun setup would be using GM 'Old Man Cam'
