Ls1 shortblock I have a feeling I'll be in the market for a new shortblock pretty soon. Can any one tell me where I can get a budget friendly STOCK shortblock? I've looked into a tms so far.
The best pricing you'll get is having a local engine shop rebuild your engine. You already have the block, crank, rods, etc so if you're staying stock, there's no reason to purchase new.
I would recommend a better piston than what came with the LS1 engine.

Well I was quoted $1800 for a rebuild locally with the stock positions? It's that about right? And the tms iron 5.7 is about $1800 and if I get that I can sell my old one and make some money back.
