Default 5.3 w/ls1 intake and nitrous?

hi I have a 2000 5.3 and im having trouble deciding on what intake manifold to run on my 5.3, planning on running 125 shot. now im putting the 5.3 in my 1990 s10 ext.cab 2wd truck and I love the ls6 intake but the modifications to me is ridiculous to make it work with the 5.3, so what about the ls1 intake? any modifications to make the ls1 intake manifold work with the 5.3 truck engine?

Ls1 intakes are good. Not sure on the modifications to make it work but the ls6 would be a great performance wise

You understand the LS1 intake is a step backwards from the truck intake right?

There are some little upgrades, but nothing major, some elbow work and some time it can happen... im running the same setup but no NOS... Eventually i will be uprading to a LS6 intake, but at the moment the LS1 intake will do just fine.

1.cut the alternator bracket to fit the throttle
2.heat up the water neck and move slightly not to much to clear throttle
3.relocate the idler pulley
4.fbody steam line, your stock 5.3l truck steam line will not let you sit the ls1 intake correctly.

Just listed couple things you need to do, But here's my build thread, check it out when u got some time

With the LS1 intake I believe the mods that are worrying this guy about the LS6 are still going to need to happen, the idler and the water neck etc.

The truck intake is better than the LS1 and since the carbed/TBI 4.3l fit I suspect he has a fair amount of underhood room, worth at least checking the truck manifold and maybe considering a cowl, a cowl hood isn't that expensive if considering paint for the 24yo project anyway, maybe not any more than the hassles of the lesser performing LS1 intake.

People get hungup on "car" parts too often and don't consider all options.

thanks guys, I just have to buy relocation brackets to fit it in my truck anyway so it might make the ls6 intake easier to install. what if I got a ls1 water pump, will the ls6 intake clear?

I also think the harmonic balancers are different.
