Your PCV hoses are swapped. The hose from the valley pan goes to the port on the intake manifold, and the hose from the valve cover goes to the throttle body.

I had a squeal similar to that and it ended up being a bad motor mount putting the belt in a bind. Replaced motor mounts and it was gone

Get your hoses going where they belong. This could be causing the sound. I say this because the sound goes away when revved up-which changes the vacuum level. Stranger things have happened....

And no, these hoses don't do the same thing....

I would fix those hoses. If that doesn't work check and make sure you balancer isn't walking off the crank.

i had a similar noise, PS pulley wasnt seated onto the shaft all the way…like .100" or something at it sounded like hell.

good luck sorting it. its that little **** that drives me crazy.

burned piston? bummer. dropped a valve? "we'll redo the valvetrain with nice stuff now"

slightly irritating squeal? MOTHER OF F&^% CO%^ SU%%$#R!!!!!

It was because of those hoses.

Yea...well at least the noise is gone. The car has all new pullies and gatorbacks so, preventative maintenance I guess.
