Seems very similar to the Texas Speed 228R cam. I am curious whom grinds them for Jeg's.

Agreed, it should perform very similar to our 228r, picking up around 40-50 rwhp and pretty street friendly in an ls1 or larger sized motor.

The 228r is a really proven cam, so that cam would be a good choice.

I would venture to say it's Comp, but could be wrong. I'm sure you could find out from JEGS directly though.

I too am curious about this cam. I just did a quick search to see if anyone was running this cam and not a whole lot came up for it. That is a great price though! This camshaft would be perfect for a budget cam swap, but I wonder how it would perform?

Cam came in today. Card really doesn't say a lot and the cam only has a few numbers on it. The box was a Jegs box so no taddle tale there. Oh well, maybe it will sound good and run descent. It is after all just a spare motor.

By 40-50 I hope you mean just the cam shaft. Most of my builds have been small effort with 216-220 or so cams and gains have been in the 80 HP range with bolt ons and tuning. I like those builds because of how much like stock they drive. They also make great low end power that way. The car this is going in temporarily is a little more for hard high RPM pulls.

You aren't really going to see a 80rwhp gain in most applications from a cam swap in that size range. A larger cam certainly do it though

You can always just call up Jegs and tell them you have a technical questions about your cam purchase. Then just ask the tech who the Cam grinder is.

This cam is going to need a stall right? I am planning on doing the 224/224. I here this cam is making great power without the need for a stall.

F bodies should have been built by GM with a 3k stall and a trans cooler. There is no magic trick to getting real power. I, like most here have been down this road. Even with a 216°/ 220° .537" lift on a 114 LSA the stock stall sucked hind tit with a stock tuned 12' 5.0 mustang. After the 3k stall it was a sad day for even a bolt on, tuned, driver modded 12' 5.slow.

I have been running this cam for about 3 years now. Drives like stock after I got it to a reputable tuner. Mods in YouTube description
