382ci. using stock 3.898in bore, 4.0in. stroke
383ci. honing the cylinder out to 3.903in, 4.0in. stroke
395ci. honing the cylinder out to 3.903in, 4.125in. stroke
408ci. will require a larger bore diameter of 4.030in
I hope this helps you out...I don't know that much about the 281 but hopefully this gets you on the right track...

The only real way to make those Mod-Motors go fast is to build 'em and boost 'em. The down-side to that is that by the time you get done building the motor, buying the blower setup, buying the fuel system, buying a real engine management system, and paying for install/tuning, you'll realize that you could be going just as fast for a lot cheaper.
