Default BTR stage 3, BTR stage 4, or EPS 230/238?

Our SS is apart after many months of chasing what kind of looks like valve float. We have decided to scrap the TSP 233/239 that is in it, even though it appears to be fine. We will also be upgrading the LS7 lifters to Morels and replacing the almost new BTR .660 Titaniums with brand new ones, in case the issues have caused any premature wear issues. It will also be getting the trunion upgrade on the stock rockers and new push rods.
I don't have much time to decide on the cam but do know that I'm leaning heavily towards these 3. Right now, the PRC 5.3 stage 2.5 heads are going out to be tested and measured, so time is short. It had 6 valve seals popped out.
My intended goal is to put this car in the 10's and still maintain good street manners. She laid down 471 rwhp on the dyno and hit an 11.56 at 119 in 1800 da, and without the exhaust being uncapped. That was also with it floating the valves, or for some other reason falling on its face after 5800 rpm, and on a soft launch.
The setup is Lingenfelter shortblock with reverse dome pistons and 4 cc valve reliefs, PRC 5.3 stage 2.5's milled .023 and 3 angle, Fast 92, 1 and 3/4 longtubes to Y-pipe with dual cut-outs into a Borla adjustable catback. stage 2 4l60 with a tight Edge 4000 stall and 3.73's.
Which cam would you choose? Drivetrain stability is tremendously important here.

I would think the machine shop could quickly and easily measure seat and open pressure on your existing springs and tell you if they need to be replaced.

Talk to Brian...I ordered the stage IV and when he learned my new heads had been milled (only .015) he said NO and sent me a stage III. Since you have valve reliefs you may be OK. Again, I would talk to Brian. I know a guy on here running the stage IV and (with a good tuner) it is very streetable.
Good luck and keep us posted.

I spoke to Brian and my builder is talking with him through this process. The almost new BTR springs are being replaced on Brian's advice.
The valve reliefs should ensure that we can easily and safely run either of these 3 cams.
Maybe even a shot of nitrous also

It's kind of hard to tell much from that thread because of the differences in heads and you are using nitrous. I'm going for 10's n/a and our car makes freakish power for what's in it.

Quick Reply: BTR stage 3, BTR stage 4, or EPS 230/238?
