Default milling heads

Based on cam size of 227/234, .613/.576 on 113.
How much power/torque would be there to gain going from ported 241's taking them off and then milling 30 thou off them?

Exhaust is 1 5/8 headers into twin 3" with X pipe.

If I had to guess, I'd suspect it's not really worth the time and effort since they're already ported. Maybe someone else can confirm differently

That would raise compression around .8 points, which would be good for something close to 3-4% increase. So if you're at 400rwhp, it would push you up to about 415rwhp. But, if your cam is begging for more compression, you might see a sizeable bump in torque and engine response.

Yeah I just was thinking that too , around $100 to mill, factor $ in for new pushrods, remove heads, send heads off, pick them up day later, fit them, bit of coolant , oil etc for a 5-10rwhp gain doesn't seem worth it

I think your under estimating the gain. Responsiveness in itself will make the car quicker in the quarter and faster in general. 2nd that bump in compression will be across the board not just at peak. 3rd your cam is begging for all the compression it can get ground on that LSA.

Exactly, and to be honest I'd focus my money elsewhere...unless you have time and money to burn of course lol.

BTW, what is your compression right now? If it's pretty low then that would be the "only" reason that I'd consider doing it

I probably wouldn't pull them just for that but there would be a gain. PTV would get on the tighter side as well.

I would just run it. If you ever need to pull the heads for any reason, then I would definitely consider it. It will increase the responsiveness of the engine and power throughout the RPM range.
