I would expect this camshaft to perform well on nitrous up to a 150 shot. Anything more than a 150 shot and it will most likely not pick up the full amount that you're spraying.

Well after hearing what you and Jake fusion have said; I think it would be best if I called you and had a cam custom spec'd . So Tick gets their grinds from Comp and Cam Motion?

That's a good call.

A 150 shot is a good number on a stock bottom end car, but I know of few people who have done 300 shots with it holding together. Plates are good to about 225 or so, nozzles are good for 300, and past that, I'd do a direct port system. But I'd probably just do a plate an shoot 200 at it. With HCI+200 you're into the 9s full weight.

Jake Fusion, do the EPS lobes you mentioned come from Cam Motion, and could Martin spec me a cam with those lobes?

The cam Martin said is good in my opinion.anything in the range of 226-230 on intake, and 230-234 exhaust has really proved itself on here with well ported heads.so Martin, eps, pat g or Ed Curtis can get you set up.now a days everybody wants a big cam that make 500rwhp,but look up times and hp back in 03-09.ive seen a lot of 10 sec cars with 220 duration cam.

no eps lobes are own by geoff. cam motion just grinds them. if you want eps loes then you have to get in touch with geoff at eps. martin can spec cam motion lobes or his own which are very good also

We use Comp, Cam Motion and Bullet. It is all based on customer preference as we always put the customer and his wants first. If you prefer another company, I can most likely have one ground by them as well.

I have my own lobes I have designed myself that Kip grinds for us at Cam Motion.

CM is also offering a cheaper bearing quality material core in lieu of the aircraft quality material cores. You can still get the AQ material, but it is more expensive. The BQ material is extremely similar to what Comp uses in their 5160/5150 billet steel cores.

Martin-Is there any benefit going with the aircraft over the bearing quality material? or is it just a piece of mind thing?

^Id do it for the extra $60. A lot of talk on comp failures on tech but for the piece of mind of such an integral part the extra money is worth it even if Tick and other vendors never have a problem with the lesser material.

When Kip first told me that he was going to be offering a BQ material and he asked me if I may be interested in buying in bulk, I told him that most of my customers that call me, if not all that call me wanting CM camshafts, want them because of the 8620 core.

While we've never had an issue with a cam going flat or cores becoming damaged(we have had 4 whining cams out of nearly 3000 sold .001%), the 8620 AQ material is a better material. As we now know, the whining cams were not because of core material, but because of finishing practices.

FWIW Comp also offers 8620 and 9310 cores as well.
