Destroyed valve seals damaged valve stem
Scored a set of WCCH 317 heads with unknown brand of dual valve springs. I tore them down tonight for cleaning and inspection, and noticed on one head, every single intake valve seal is completely munched, or in the case of one, gone all together.
The valves appear to be stainless, but again, not 100% sure as I didn't buy the heads new.
Anyway, does anyone have any opinions on why it would be only the intake valve seals that got tore up? Are there any specific valve seals that work especially good with dual springs?
In some cases, they nicked the valves. What is the general opinion here? Does any amount of damage warrant replacement, or is there some room for recovery, such as knocking down the high spots on a combustion chamber that got tore up from a failure?

I wish there was someway to further ID these springs and seals...
