Default ls6 or ls2 timing chain set

from research i did some people had clearance issue using a double roller timing chain set and majority said to go with the ls2 timing chain.

is the ls6 timing chain similar to the ls2 timing chain?

If you buy a GM timing chain, you will get the same one. The older LS1 chain originally installed in our motors is no longer made.

this^^. the ls2 is the current replacement. the ls6 is a little smaller but still plenty strong enough. Before 2005 thats all there was and there werent any issues. I had a new ls6 one when i did my cam swap and ts been fine now for 15k

The LS2 chain is thicker & beefier than the LS1/6 chain. It will fit on the LS1/6 sprockets. For most applications, the LS2 chain or a quality aftermarket single row chain set is all you need.

On my 383/AFR build, I used a single row Rollmaster chainset.

A chain tensioner/guide is never a bad idea.

And like Redbird said, if you order a LS1/6 chain from GM today, you'll receive the LS2 chain.

If you need a good single roller timing chain check this one out from us. Its the new HINSON C7-R timing chain. It is the strongest single roller timing chain available. It has a seamless pin unlike all the other chains on the market that have a seam that makes the chain weak and stretch over time. Read up on it on our website. Heres a link

Yep, that's the good stuff. Like the Rollmaster, it uses the IWIS chain.
