I wonder if it was due to the runner length? Isn't the LS7 intake practically a short runner intake to begin with? Helps it breath up high where the cubes take care of the torque down low?
I havent heard that but who knows. I do know that the ls7 intake is about the widest ls intake there is so it would make sense the runners would be really long as well? Also if there were short runners in it wouldnt the results have been flip flopped? An increase in low end torque with a flat to negative gain up top from the msd? The fast also shows gains everywhere on an ls7 again shouldnt that not be the case if the runners on an ls7 are very short? Unless the intake is just really poorly designed
Couple of thoughts. This is the first report I have seen and would like to have more information on it such as the parts used such as camshaft and also the dyno graph. Now we just need to compare this report with the others that will be coming in and then make a judgement.
I understand the need for a parts list and I'd like to see it however with all due respect to the msd it doesnt matter what cam is in it or what parts it has. An aftermarket intake should beat out a stock one plain and simple, and the tuning isnt terribly hard if its a maf car its just correcting the maf and then driveability. the ve table really shouldnt need to be tweaked especially for wot
Ok, some second results have come in with an LS7 motor with modifications such as heads and cam. They also got 9 hp over a Fast intake setup. Very little down below. The story is in the dyno results section. I have to run.
guy in this thread claimed it was only 10 over a FACTORY intake. which I could very well believe if the motor had no cam. I'll still stand by my claim saying on a stock-cam only engine the 2 intakes are more or less equal.
In light of that dyno thread with a pretty serious setup on the c6z I'll be really surprised if someone sees really any measurable difference between the 2 on a stock cubed cam only ls1. waiting on the vararam now lol
edit:apparently this one here and the one in the dyno section are the same...i still stand behind my claim lol

ya doc if the varam def fits in an fbody and rocks the world when it debuts for cathedrals i'll be selling the fast but for now i dont see a reason to. especially when the msd gained 8-9 hp at 6k on a serious H/C ls7...
If you already have a FAST I would not switch. However If I was going to buy new then the MSD makes sense. Now I have to find a comparison of the stock LS7 intake and the FAST.
Unported the Fast v the stock LS7 shows small HP gains... Like 0-3whp, but you will gain torque. You gain 10-15 ft#'s. Now, port a Fast, and you'll see gains of 8-10 with the same torque gain.

Well this sucks. Found out where this mysterious rattle was coming from that I've been hearing the last few months.
Corsa Extreme- all broken right where the pipes are factory welded. Both sides. I don't get it. It's not a high stress area, and BOTH sides are broken and cracked.
