Stunning looking port job, hope they run as good as they look.

I have a set of raw LSX-CT head casting being Custom CNC's for me by Chris Frank at Frankenstein Cylinder head's, so hope they look just as good when they are finished.

They will. Chris' port work is as good as it gets. Pictures of his TFS cathedral ported heads and those new Chimera heads are picture perfect. One guy estimated that the Chris Frank Chimera heads would pick up around 100 hp over MAST LS7 heads on a HKE 468.

That's no joke. Chris's port work is simply nothing short of spectacular. Guy flat out knows how to make power. I'd put him up with Greg and Darin Morgan myself.

Plan as for right now is a stock bottom end. It'll have at max a .040 Cometic gasket.

Future could be slapping these on a very lightweight 402 or 416 stroker, utilizing LS7 crank and Rods, with custom Pistons from JE

So are we to believe that this five hundred version is just to temporarily hold you over until you can formulate the six hundred build ??

You could just blow this one up and have a real good reason to build a 416.

Or just buy a blower. I'm on this kick now. The money I spent on an NA h/c build is stupid. Redo = forged 347 and a blower or a turbo. Go big or go home.

Whaaaat??? Never thought you'd say that. I'm getting ready to sell all my stuff to do a turbo build.

Well, I can always throw a HeartBeat on if I get really bored, considering I've now got the heads for it. But FI has its own set of inherent problems. I'm content staying NA.

I don't know how you got over 10k into a heads and cam NA build. FI is for sure more expensive. I had less in my trickflow/fast/nitrous setup than I do in my 347 s475 setup and it's not even done yet.

How do you figure? I've done the math on it, and $5,000 is the absolute max it would cost me to go single turbo. That's the Huron Speed kit, On3 88mm turbo, and complete fuel system.

Its the little things that add up to do it right and reliable. Everyone starts the same way but like everyone says whatever your budget is, double it. I had the same thinking and I am doing most of the stuff myself, but once it started rolling it doesn't stop. Cheap, reliable, fast. Pick two can't have all three the saying goes.

Talked with Scorpion and their LS series shaft mount rockers aren't going to be out for a bit yet. Honestly, idk if the guy I spoke with (Rick maybe?) was having an off day or what but his complete and utter lack of enthusiasm turned me off as well.

T&D is looking good if I go the shaft route. It'll either be them or stockers as I have the rails for them as well.

If I go the stock rocker direction I'll be sure to have the BTR trunion upgrade as they are made from a much better material than Comps.

Just checked my engine RR after ~ 5000 miles of pure abuse...nothing else to say they are as new and going back in:

If my valves were as light as your Christian I'd consider the YT's, as they're a cheaper option. I'm thinking of just buying the bullet and grabbing the T&Ds.

Anyone have weight opinions? I've had Scorpion RR's before and loved them, but man the T&Ds feel like they weigh a TON

T&D's are going to allow you to throw whatever you want at your valvetrain. You can beat on it til the cows come home.

I'm just wondering if the PAC 1221x's are up to the task. I HAVE to control valve float. I fully expect to take this to 7200+ if the cam dictates such. I don't want to run into float at a measly 6500
