Yes they will.

Its not malicious on their part to do so. Most shops are using off the shelf lobes, and simply choosing where to put the valve events on the cam. They can't say you aren't allowed to buy X off the shelf lobe + Y off the shelf lobe. The only caveat to this is if you have a custom lobe that you pay for a master for (at $500 or more per master most shops take lobes they already know work and skip this).

In that case, you as the individual couldn't use that particular lobe. But, if you look in the computer at comp you will most likely find a lobe on either side of your "custom" lobe which is almost identical.

In the case of most of the shops doing LS1 cams they use a Comp XE or XE-R lobe and they spec the LSA and ICL a few other use Lunati, or one of the other grinders out there, but you see lots of Comp cams out there...

I would also have an issue with not being given cam specs once I had purchased a package, and can understand folks perspective. But, I can also understand not giving away your R&D in a public forum...

sounds like I would be a great candidate for the x3. But the price is a bit steep for me at the moment, damnit. I quess I will just have to wait for a little while.

We have done 2 propriatary lobes with Comp. They only hold them for 1 year unless you work the details out with them in advance. Then after that, they go on the shelf with the other lobes.

Thanks

just got the cam installed ..... raced a Hamman M5 when it was stock(my camaro2001) and after installing the cam with all the bolt ons . when it was stock he was 2 cars ahead of me ...... but after one week he was counting cars between me and him ..he said 7-8 cars "me camaro infront of him"but i would say i was pulling all the way and that what i care for ... want to ask would it be a big difference "hp wise" if i switched from ls1 heads to pp ls6 heads 2.08 valves and will that make a p/v issue ??

i have a vid of both races..will try to post'em soon

What else do you need for a cam swap?

I've heard that it's good to do the timing chain as well, yes/no? Any other information would be great, even down to the smallest nut nd bolt.

Andrew
As far as the timing chain goes id replace it because mine broke 2 weeks ago with 78k heads/cam setup from 2000 which means its out dated. It was a total loss on valves and pistons now im spending a little over 3k on a forged 347 SHORTBLOCK and it will have a double roller chain just my .02

Can someone confirm the G5x2 on 112 will fit with no pv clearance issues with the unmilled AFR 205 heads?
