G5X2 and G5X3
PS, I think most of the questions have been answered except for the specs, and I don't know them. I even kept them secret from myself so I wouldn't slip. LG
Humm…..I am really curious as to way you haven’t released the cam specs. I know it has been said “so the competition can’t copy it”. But we all know they can buy one and have it tested out, something that is not so easy for an individual customer to do. So I’m not trying to bash anyone here, but it is really curious to me as to why. It seams like the specs are just being kept from the customer. Not saying it is so, .... but this is just so curious to me. If a company copied someone else’s cam, they may not want to release the specs on that cam so the customer wouldn’t know it was a copy. Just a thought….humm….for instance, how different are the T-Rex dyno charts from the dynos of the G5 cams….I’m sure that isn’t the case here…..but one should see some of the questions that can come up when companies keep secrets from their customers.
BTW Comp Cams will not cut a cam that matches another company’s cam!! Just call and ask them.
I really am not trying to bash anyone here, just sharing some of my thoughts on the subject. I am one who likes to know everything that is going on in my car, and when someone is not willing to tell me what I have bought, it makes me wonder why.
I am not one who ever takes anyone’s word for anything. Just ask my husband, it drives him crazy sometimes. So obviously I wouldn’t buy this or any other cam without knowing all the specs on it. I like to know what I am getting. But then, not everyone thinks the same way as I do.
Im going to have mine done. I wont give out the specs but i just want to build the right heads for this cam. kinda hard without the specs.

Also why are you so set on knowing the specs? Many people use the cam and I have yet to see anyone say "You know, I love my cam, but I think its dynoing 50 horsepower low because I dont know the specs"... Why dont you call Jay at Absolute Speed and ask him how he ports his heads, or FAST and ask them how they built their intake manifold... its just info that you really dont need.... the ONLY exception being if you are building a ground up race car and parting together many different pieces, then I Think Lou will help you out. Honestly, if I was him I probably wouldnt tell either, mainly because if one of the LG Haters got ahold of the specs they would be all over the internet in a minute!
Oh, and Im on his payroll now too by the way!
Lou, Jay... when can I expect those checks?
With specs like the X2 I was expecting closer to the 440 range (H/C + all bolt ons).
Was that cam designed as an M6 cam?
The T-REX and the G5X2 and G5X3 are different. Different vendors have different ways of getting things done.
I agree its important to know your cams specs from both determining how it will work with your combo, but also to ensure you degree your cam correctly. I'm sure Lou can do whatever it take to make you happy.
BTW, any cam can be cam doctored at many shops, and thus the secret specs are not secret for very long. The competing shops know what other folks are doing, but it is a unspoken gentleman's understanding that folks don't go out and post other shops specs.
And if what you say is true, that is great and no need for any more comment on the subject.

I guess in all honesty it is just a sales gimmick and nothing more than that.

So, that leaves the individual. So, you as the individual can go take Lou's specs (if you have them), call Comp cams, and "clone" the LG cam. So, you've taken all his R&D efforts time, etc... and benefitted from them for free.
Thats why specs aren't public, because there are individuals who will take those specs, state that Lou is charging too much, and get a cam on the cheap. Then if it doesn't make power then they will badmouth Lou's cam even though it really isn't his cam, its their attempt at copying.
Folks get wrapped up in the "bigger is better" school of cam design rather than designing an optimal cam for your specific combo.
If he tells all his customers what the spec are when they buy the cam, then that is fine, but someone said on here that they don’t even get a cam card with it. Hope they don’t ever want to resell the cam, and Lou is always available even years down the road. Like I said, I am just baffled by all this.
To me free enterprise is the ability to be able to shop and compare, if LG doesn’t want the customer to be able to do that, that is his right. But to me, I would call that a sales gimmick. If his customer’s don’t mind, it is none of my business, I myself would never do that though, just in case he wants to know.
As for my X3 cam i am very happy with the power it's making and how it drives. I would definately recomend 4.10 gears for this cam, i drove around with the stock gears for a few weeks and then put in the 4.10's and it is way more responsive.
So Lou if you read this, feel free to PM the specs on this beast, i know it's a longshot, but hey maybe your in a good mood today.
I have an idea of what it is but i'm not 100% sure.
