No, thats not. the X2 and X3 are currently not listed on the site as far as I know. That is their regular G2 seriese cam, not the 'X' serises

On stock heads with the 114lsa yes, thats correct. On a 112lsa, that would require a little flycutting

I don't understand then. If a 114 lsa is a bigger cam, wouldn't the valves open farther (which would smack the piston), or are they just staying open longer?

the 112lsa and 114lsa are the same size cam, but the 114lsa has the lobes slightly farther apart. Like Orange peel said, lsa stands for Lobe Speration angle. The cam is that close, that tightening the LSA by 2* messes with the timing of events enough to cause clearance issues.

Thats one of the reasons I chose the X2 over the X3, I wanted a cam on a 112lsa, and if the cam was so close that it would fit on a 114lsa but not a 112lsa, than I figured it was a little too close for comfort for me. I do wonder what that cams like, but I'm pretty happy with the X2. Don't see it worth the trouble to change now

See, that's confusing me. You're saying the 112 is so close that it hardly fits? But you went with the 112 because you felt the 114 was too close for comfort? I'm so confused! Forgive my ignorance please, I just want to learn this stuff!

X2 is what he has, less lift, duration, etc so the 112 isn't that close like it is on the X3

I wanted the X3, but on a 112lsa. It wouldnt fit without flycutting so I got the X2.

What I meant to say, was if the 112lsa woudlnt fit with out flycutting, than the 114lsa will fit, but must be real close....too close for comfort for me. The 112lsa is so close....it doesnt fit :p

you can use the 112 on the X3 with stock heads, it's close but doesn't hit. We have a guy here that runs the X3 on a 112, he now has a forged 347 and he flycut the pistons, but he ran it on stock heads just fine. You just have to be precise on installing that cam, that's why Lou doesn't like to sell it too much, if it's just a tad off, eyebrows are coming

I wish I had known that, but I still probably wouldnt have gotten it. When I called LG, they told me I would need to flycut Oh well, both cams seem to be good performers, I'm happy with mine......though I've only had it a month and a cam hasn't lasted long than 2 months in my car before its time for a set-up change so...

Then how could a 114 work if it's bigger than a 112 if the 112 is too close?

hey man I would love to see how your car pulls. Maybe I can race you in my cam only and see how many carlengths you can pull me then judge . Hey the more you beat me the better, cause im prolly going with a bigger cam and maybe heads and thats alot of money fo sho so it better be impressive

You ever drive down to san antonio? or maybe any austin meets?
I have a bottle on top of my set up (480rwhp) and i think you should be able to beat me even on spray. What a cool video to do and make a complete post about with videos (i dont mind doing it too even if I lose who cares! just love playing around )

Let me know what you think.. did you say you dynoed your car too? what did it do? Any track times? super interested

its not any bigger, then LSA is the degrees of speration, or distance so to speak, between the lobes. So if you imagine looking at a cam, all the lobes, on a 112lsa the intake and exhaust lobes are going to be slightly closer together, as opposed to a 114lsa cam. Duration and lift remains the same, that is not changed by the LSA

Now imagine the piston moving up and down the cylinder and a vlave over that opening and closing, if the piston comes to the top, and the valve starts to open slitghtly earlier, due to the LSA being tigheter (meaning the valve opens sooner) than you might have clearance issuse whereas if the cam was on a 114 lsa, the valve would open slightly later, and the piston might already be on its way down, providing a little more clearance

Thats probably not the best description, just trying to get the general idea across. hope that made a little sense

Id be intrested. Only time I'm in SA is when I go to SAR, which hasnt been recently due to hot weather and slipping clutch. I'll actually be taking my car to the dyno next weekend. I dyno'd 386 cam only, with 11:1 A/F....leaned that out a bit and added the heads, should be a strong runner. I'll post up some results. I'm at all the Austin meets, so if you ever want to swing by, were a pretty cool, laid back bunch. Usually get together on Thursdays. Let me know

I can't remember how you dyno'd but I think I recognize your car....Dave and Nitro Daves was telling me about you tuning there, and pretty excited about the numbers you put down, I could be mistake though. You have a Nitro Daves sticker on your back windshiled?

Exactly. That's all you have to do.

Are you serious? When I got my X2 last December, they were selling the complete cam kit for $949 + shipping. I think they wanted like $1100 for the kit with the Comp 921 doubles though.
