Default Tick SNS Stage 2 or 3?

Hello,

I am currently getting parts together to do a Heads/ Cam setup on my 02 SS 6 speed car. I DAILY DRIVE this car every day. 25 miles atleast sometimes a bit more. And this includes some stop and go and slow cruising (30-50mph) on the highway at times. My build consists of:
-Longtubes
-SLP Loudmouth 2
-Ported 799 heads w/ .660 BTR springs
-LS7 Lifters w/ LS2 lifter guides
-LS2 Timing Chain
-Melling 10295
-ARP Head Bolts and Crank Bolt
-Racetronix 255 w/ Hotwire kit
-4.11 gears

I can not decide on a cam. I have talked to Martin multiple times, he says the stage 3 would be fine, but i still have my doubts and I'm thinking the older style 231/235 stage 2 would be better. Im looking for opinions of anyone who has either of these cams or something similar and how the driveablitly is. Any input is much appreciated.

Thanks

I have the SNS Torque Max stage 2 (227/235 110 lsa). I love the cam and it has power everywhere. I could daily drive the car without issue. With that said, I wish I'd have gone with the bigger stage 3. I don't see any issues with daily driving the stage 3 as long as you have a good tune. Either cam will be a great upgrade and add a new level of fun.

I have a SNS Stage 3 from Tick. I was really impressed with the performance this cam throws down. The only thing is, my car is an A4 so I cant speak to you about drivability since you have a manual.

What would the difference be in the rpm range of those two cams?

Here is a thread of a guy I know. His car is a 6 speed and he claims that the drivability is decent for a cam this size. Don't pay attention to the track numbers as he needs to work on launching the car some more. Hope this helps

My sns compliments my 4k converter, so driveability is actually really smooth. Puts down power and it has an amazing chop!!
Your asking for trouble dd this car everyday 25 miles though. I personally wouldn't do it for dd, and Im surprised Martin would reccommend this can knowing you drive it everyday.

I don't think I would call it asking for trouble. Some people can tolerate more than others and the tune will play a big roll in how the car acts on the street. If my car were a 6 speed and had a quieter exhaust I would drive it more often, but with the 4500 converter and loud exhaust I get plenty of unneeded attention on the street.

Every company i talk to they seem to just recommend me a off the shelf cam instead of speccing one. So far only EPS has specced me a cam which was a 226/234 113 LSA. He said a bit bigger like a 230/234 112 lsa would be good to.

BTR recommended their stage 3 N/A cam. Im considering doing the 231/235. Of course i want a big cam but i have no plans of getting a daily anytime soon so i want something easier to drive and still be a ton of fun.

EPS lobes 226/230-232, 114+3 smooth daily driver in 6 spd
Minimal lope, will still rip and pull very strong!
My .02, worth what you paid for it.
Kip helped me with a LLSR but would have got a HR from him.
Definitely wanted material quality, And smoother lobe profiles
of CAMMOTION core VS COMP!
Also, GREAT SERVICE!

Eps 226/230 111+2. 6 degrees of overlap and will run well for a street car. Streetsweeper HT or F13 will run well as well.

That would be me, I have put a alot of time in with it now and still maintain I can drive it anywhere. Since then I have put 4.11s in with viking coilovers and have gone a low 11 @115 1.7 60' and a best of 10.90 @ 130 with nitrous motivation. If I were to drive it every day I would just quiet the exhaust down and keep a relatively sticky tire on it. Will be getting tea/tfs 215s on it this summer along with a stiff wall.

I did not really take pictures of the install, but it was super simple, but here's some together and on the old welds and then the billets right before it got put away for the winter, will need to do some adjustments in the spring to get it where I would like it.

Figured as much, but didn't see it in your signature. Did you break the 10 bolt, or were you proactive?
