Cam Selection-stalled Auto Hey guys, looking for opinions on cam choice. Last year my car had stock 241 heads, MS3 cam, bbk intake and TB, and a 3500 stall and went 11.6 in the 1/4. I've ditched the BBK setup and went with a ported fast 90 and also picked up some 243 heads. The goal of the car is to go 10.99 this year. I'm trying to figure out which direction I should go with the Cam. I don't want to re-stall the converter so I'm thinking about going smaller on the cam to work better with the converter.
Current thoughts:
-Go with a TSP torquer V2(my old 6spd car had this cam and I liked it a lot)
-Go down as far as a 228R
-Take suggestions on more modern cams that I don't know about?
-Stay with the MS3 and see how fast I go with the new heads and intake.

I see. I wish I just kept my MS3 I had and optimized that setup. I switched cams and was even more disappointed. Now my car has been sitting forever because I lost a 3-4 clutch pack and I can't decide on a setup lol. Good luck.

Are you getting the new heads ported? Stock 243 heads will not get you where you want to go without other changes. You might see 30-35rwhp real world from the heads and ported 90mm over your current setup.
If he's cutting 1.61 60ft it's going to take a fairly aggressive converter to go faster there regardless of what his is rated at. Those are 60fts in line with a Yank SS4000 based on what I've seen.

The car already has 3.73's and I'm crossing the line at 6k as it is(I believe a converter is probably a wise choice as I'm seeing 1k rpm of slipping on the top end when you do the backwards calculation on my trap speed and FDR).
Based on the responses, I'm thinking of going to a higher stall and just keeping the cam. I realize that is probably the easiest way to get to the goal of 10.99. I wouldn't mind making it a little more difficult by going with a more streetable cam and converter though if someone has done it in the past,which is why I started this thread.
