Default What should I do first?

I can either do a FAST 92/92 set up with headers and a tune (install myself) or ported ls6 heads /cam/ stall. Plus all of the supporting mods. I can install the stall myself but I have already been quoted 1750 for a h/c install with tune. I can't do everything at the same time due to my budget. What should I do first? Is there a different order you would do these mods?

I would do the headers and intake first. The stall, heads and cam if you can do at the same time than you only have to pay for one tune.

you will need a tune if you do the intake/headers. try to do everything at once. it will be cheaper in the long run. If the installer is dropping the engine out to do the heads/cam he can do the headers, intake, and stall at the same time for nothing.

Both of those are good suggestions and that would be ideal for me, but I will most likely be doing them a few months apart for budget reasons. I also want to feel the power differences throughout the build that way I can tell what helped out the most.

Just my opinion but I would do exhaust and converter first. Have some fun with it then do your intake, heads, cam

I would do the headers & exhaust first and skip the tune.
Save up, do the rest and then tune.

Would it be safe to do the headers and intake without a tune?

I just did 1 7/8" headers and went from a 2" to a 4" exhaust without a tune. Didn't notice much difference in power but I need to mod my muffler tip to get rid of a restrictor. In theory, I should be running leaner but I think the MAF just corrects. My cam has -20 overlap so the headers are not doing their thing yet.
I can't speak for a 92/92 set up. Larger MAF or injectors MUST be corrected for in the tune.

Usually the initial tune is costly but a re tune shouldn't be that expensive. If it were me I'd do Exhaust, stall and tune first. It's always nice to see a baseline of what the car makes.

I ran my 05 gto and 2008 vette when I installed CAI and headers for a month on both before I had them tuned and there were no problems except codes for the rear 02 sensors. After I had them tuned I couldn't tell much of a difference except my codes were gone.

Give us a call & we can discuss your combo. Honestly you really need the headers and ex mods in place before h/c imho. Its the basis for all future mods.
