Default budget heads

Been out of the game for a while and decided to resurrect my 98 TA thats been sitting for a number of years now. It has a 383 ls1 with no heads. I would love some mamofied afr's or a set of prc's but they are financially out of the question for me right now. The engine was 11.3:1 compression with 66 cc heads. I want good street manors on 93 octane pump gas. I am going to get a different cam as well so that decision will be made depending on the heads. Is there any decent heads out there for around 1k or less. If not what is realistic.

I run PRC 5.3 heads and for the money I'm very happy with them! Very good budget head IMO

For 1k exactly I'd take your heads and send them out for porting, most places do it for just around that.

Advanced induction has a great program for 241s and people have gotten very good numbers with those.

For right at a grand the PRC 5.3l heads are a good option. Give us a call & we will work something up for ya! Might even have a few scratch & dent discount heads!

I just finished up a car that I installed a set of PRC stage 1 LS6 heads on and performed flawlessly and made some awesome numbers. When it comes to budget heads it is really hard to beat the PRC stuff sold by Texas Speed.

Prc 5.3 were one of the most popular options several years ago because you could get them assembled with springs for 1100.00. Those heads with a MS3 have made 430-440whp time after time with a fast 90.

You could go 228r with a ported fast and make the same numbers. I like this option better...be a better driver.

We offer the best bang for the dollar heads on the market.
Send us yours and it's even cheaper.
It will be a tad bit more than the 1K$ (not mush more with supplied castings) but they are ready to go with springs, locks, Ti retainers, seals, and I.D. locators.(All U.S. made components)
We also have our rocker braces to increase valve train stability.
Give us a call or send a PM and we can help you out.

Those prc 5.3 heads do look like a great deal with decent flow numbers. Sending my heads out is not an option for me. The 853's in my garage have been shaved twice already and need it again. As they were overheated and warped. Makes no sense putting a bunch of $$ into them. I also need to make a decicion on a cam. I would like to go ms3 or ms4 but that would require me to have my 3200 vig. Restalled to around 4000. It has a 224/224 112lsa in it now. Jason, i may be calling you in a couple weeks. I gotta sell one of my quads to pay for this project
. (to many hobbies and not a big enough wallet.)

Just leave that cam in there and throw your valves with some PSI 1511 springs into these castings....

TSP for the bolts and gaskets and you'll be up and running well for under 1500 bucks
