450rwhp?
That would be awesome! What is the rest of your build going to look like? I'll be going pretty much by Tony's letter, other than the cam I have is close enough to the cam he would spec, so I'm leaving it in, and I don't have true duals, and I have a heavy clutch.
But, the heads are the foundation. Once they're done, everything else is relatively easy. Down the road, I'll throw a set of duals on and go with a carbon twin disc, which will make a difference.

As for the rest of the drivetrain, I'm looking at a quick performance 9" with a 31 spline trustees, probably 3.73 or 4.1 gears (still a street car so we'll see), a monster stage 2, and debating about getting the t56 rebuilt.
I decided I'm going to stick with the budget route, get a set of headers and a y with a cutout, and later on get the duals.
I'd like to walk away knowing I left nothing on the table, but I think that'll be lengthy and expensive lol
Appreciate the offer. If I was gonna drop 800, I would just go whole hog and go kooks duals. I see no benefit from my current setup. You should try the classified forum.
oh **** you did haha. My bad. I'll take a look around and see what I can find.
Anyway, here's what I've got:
Clevite bearings
Scat 6.125 rods
Wiseco pistons
ARH 205 heads (gonna get them milled to about 11.2 cr)
btr platinum springs
fast 92/92
still need to talk to Tony Mamo about a cam
stock rockers w/ trunion
ported ls6 pump
Monster stg 2 single disc
anything else?

×2 on the GM white 42#ers. That's what I run also. There is a guy in Missouri that sells a bunch and posts in the classifieds a lot. I think I gave $60 for mine. Also I would spend a little extra and have them cleaned and flowed to be sure they're working. 2 of mine got stuck closed but were able to get opened up.
Like everyone said already invest in a good set of heads. You can run a lot milder cam with better heads. Possibly pick up a set of heads with a matched cam from Mamo or AI. Also some good pushrods i would suggest. I ran some 3/8" Trends, either that or some Mantons. Eliminating pushrod flex and valve train instability can save your motor and possibly squeeze a few more ponies out.
My car made 444/398 on motor with a set of cnc'd 853s with a custom Tick cam. My torque number should have been higher but I think my intake runner were killing my air velocity and hurting it. And lastly listen to some of these guys in here because they know 2hat they're talking about. I made a post similar to this a few years ago and these same guys chimed in and once I finally got it done I was very happy with my car.
Really not sure what kind of gains there are from running kooks vs tsp but you can't beat tsp for the price of there stuff.

What intake were you running?
When you dish the Pistons the swept volume / displacement is the same. What effectively changes is the residual volume at TDC. You have the combustion chamber volume + head gasket volume + piston dish volume making up your residual volume. So, the dish reduces the compression ratio. But not by subtracting from cylinder volume, by adding to combustion chamber volume. Make sense?

So I spoke with Tony and we agreed on a set of his latest 220cc heads, (on the fence about the 10mm upgrade for the yt rockers) and a fast102/102. I'll assume the white gm injectors will fit the 102, and I was looking at an ebay kit for the fuel rails so hopefully with those I can get away without needing the 1/2" spacer.
Now I just need to figure if I want to try my hand at assembling the shortblock myself or pay 300 for the machine shop to do it.
