I can't explain the time gap between lope, that was something I haven't heard before.
The amount of lope a cam has directly relates to the cam's overlap. A tuner can change the amount of lope with idle speed and other edit settings to some degree and bigger C.I. engines can run more overlap before lope sets in. In the 5.7 / 346 LS1, overlaps from 0 to 2* will lope a little. a 224/224 113+3 has -2 overlap and could probably be tuned to eliminate almost all lope.

Well my name is Tyler, I turned 20 at the end of June and at the beginning of June I bought my first ls. I bought a C5 Corvette (sadly not a z06) but I love her the same. That timing has really been bothering me because I have never heard anything like it. I want to attempt to get that sound from my car but don't even know what type of cam and if I'd need to rebuild the top end
By tuning the car. Your idle is I think at 650 or 550 right now with the stock cam. Mine will idle at 850, but 900 keeps the A/C and power steering happier. My cam is also significantly bigger than stock.

Yeah, please don't be that guy who gets a cam just because it sounds good idling. Even a cam with not as much overlap as that cam is still going to lope at idle, and if you lower the idle, it will lope even more.

Unless you're doing the tuning, you cant. Tell your tuner what idle speed you'd like it to be set at, but at the end of the day, I'd let the professional tuner make that call. Also, for educational purposes, overlap can be determined through a math calculation. For example.
227/235 110 LSA cam. Overlap configuration would be 227+235=462. You then take the 462 and divide it by 4, which equals 115.5. You then subtract the 115.5 from 110 (LSA) and get 5.5. You then take the 5.5 and multiply that by 2 and that will get you the amount of overlap, which in this case is 11.

One of the biggest factors for radical sound that a lot of people don't consider is the exhaust. Even a mild cammed car will sound pretty radical with a cutout, and even a large cammed setup can sound fairly tame through stock mufflers
What year C5 do you have Tyler ? 2001 and newer have a LS6 intake and LS6 oil pump (better designs). Headers are first on your list, you won't have to go to yout tuner after those are installed.
To do a cam, you also need better valve springs and stronger pushrods. You'll need a cam change kit (timing cover gasket, water pump gaskets, timing cover seal and crank bolt). Brian Tooley sells this kit for $50. Springs are around $225 for Brian Tooley (BTR) Platinum duals. Pushrods are around $100 but you need to measure and order the pushrods after the cam is installed. A dyno tune could be $500. If you still have money left over, get a oil pump and timing set. For a big cam you will probably need bigger injectors too. Speed is money, how fast can you afford to go ?

In that video it seems a combination of blower surge and very low idle.
Although a shitty idle tune on a cammed car will probably idle like that too...and try to stall out and die at every stop light. Not exactly something most people want from their tune.

My car is post #1 and my cam has 22 degrees of overlap. I love how it sounds. I have american racing high flow cats. At one time I didn't have cats. It was way too loud for me. And it stunk! Another thing, having a cam that big doesn't have any low end torque and drives far from stock.
Just something to consider.
