Question M295 oil pump from Northern Auto Parts

Has anyone bought an M295 pump from them and verified it's not too good to be true for the lower price than anyone else.

Prolly a Chicom clone. There's an E-Bay seller who shops them for $64.95, the pics show it does not look anything like a real Mellings pump...

The M295 from Melling was made as a OEM replacement pump for the LS6 non DOD/AFM units. So the pricing you are talking about is in line with most of those so nothing special there.

Don't confuse it with the M10295 which is their higher pressure offering and an actual upgrade of the M295/LS6 pumps.

On summit and jegs, the M295 which I seek is $113 and the 10295 which I don't want is $124. This listing has the M295 for $60

Default Amazon

I have been buying parts from Amazon for years and have never had an issue. I just picked up a M295 for 64.99 and not worried about it at all. I love me some Amazon for parts. Typically about 1/2 the cost of a part store. Now Ebay I dont buy parts from.

Summit and Jegs...there's your answer. Most is overpriced crap.

Amazon always has good prices, as do some of the smaller vendors. Those two are just so big they can overcharge **** and most non-enthusiasts would never know.

Doesn't summit price match? Plus if you find some 10% discount code from races, you're pretty well hooked up.

I've got a few Summit 10% codes that expire 10-17, not sure if you can use them with a price match.
PM me if you need 1

Well if you ever go to a race track you' see their signs hanging all over the place, sponsorship isn't free & I don't see Amazon helping automotive sites or motorsports.
In addition to Jegs sponsorship the family are serious racers & have heard nothing but good things about them.
Jegs & Summit usually ship things out in 1 day, Amazon basically forces you to be a Prime member if you want anything shipped in a timely manor.
Amazon seems to have a goal of putting brick & mortar stores out of business.

Amazon is basically ebay for everything that's not "sold and distributed by amazon". When I look for something and it has that written below the item, it's a score but otherwise it could be from someones basement that they call a fancy business name.

Had to block the prices to keep the policy here happy but notice on the bottom the differences between how these 2 items are sold.

NAP checks out good based on reviews. It had me worried at first as we have all been screwed in the past from places when buying car parts so it's human to question great deals.

I'm not saying Jegs is an awful corporation that you should stay away from.

Just saying most of the stuff is priced higher there, and if they do offer coupons and/or price matching then cool. But I don't see the need to pay more for something just because they have some signs up here and there.

I'd rather save a few bux and send my hard earned money to a small vendor that truly supports the LSx or GTO community (in my case) than spend more money on the same part to support Jeg's huge marketing campaign costs.

You guys are use to amazing prices as for me, summit is usually 2.5 times cheaper than anything my local shops sell (Canadian :/). To give an example, this M295 costs $173 USD and on top of that we pay 13% tax. That's why when I find $60 deals I think they're too good to be true initially.

I have one of the melling m295 pumps and paid like 60 for it when I got it. Ive never had any complaints about it and the oil pressure is better than when it had the stock pump.

Just an update after 3 years, the M295 pump is working great. 40 psi hot idle. Someone will benefit from this so you're welcome

Great to hear, you'll love the swap. Best thing I ever did. Best of luck RIDETOEAT.
Btw, I rev to 6800 rpm and the M295 oil pump never drops off in pressure, I use 5w30 synthetic. Great pump.
