Never ending!
Never ending! Just when i think i have the cam i thought i was going to run, talking with phil at AI and going to send some 799 heads off for their cnc. He recommended one of his cams, I feel like it would be smart since he knows that he is doing and ports to his cams and intakes. Does anyone have any luck with AI cams? Any videos of idles, ET and Trap? I know Camaro99ss has had some great success with him but would like to see some more set ups with his parts, Compression, intake, TB etc... thanks in advance!
What do you have now? Everyone will want to sell an add-on. When I inquired about my heads Tony Mamo pushed his cam spec with his heads. I knew going in that for a stroker my cam was high on lift and short on duration so it didn't take a lot to push me. I also liked giving business to someone who was going to help me. If you have a good cam now I say go with it but if it's not the direction you want get a new one.
Well he mentioned a cam for me being a max effort that would he thought would be close to my goal which is trapping 125mph but it spins up to 7+ which Im really not wanting to go past 6700. Said 230/238-113 .605 lift. Said would move peak down to the mid 6's. My ultimate goal is to beat my buddies camaro and pretty much any N/A 5.0. So hopefully still get it done.
I ran a 230/238 113+2 .605/.615 EPS cam in a LS1 and now run a 230/238 113+3 .620/.602 in the ls2.
The ls1 peaked at right around 6200 with a Fast 90 and liked to be shifted at 6750 at the track. My roommate ran the same thing in his M6 car with stock heads and it worked well there too.
The ls2 is peaking a little early for my tastes at 6000 and liked a much lower shift point at the track. I think I got down to 6300 1-2 and 6200 2-3. But it pulls like a big block everywhere below so it's a badass street cam.
I'm in the process of going to a solid roller and we decided to do the equivalent of a 234/242 113 which should add some top end from duration and overlap increase.

thats sweet, ill be running his heads and a fast 92. Said cam would peak off in mid 6's I'm gonna trust him since he is the man with the plan lol. Just hope to get it going soon and post my results!
