Default Best place to buy Trick Flow As Cast 220's?

With winter around the corner now's the perfect time to dig into the car. Heads are the next mod on the list and after countless hours of researching from what ive come up with the Trick Flow 220's fit my needs and budget.

Motor as of right now is Ls-1 with stock 241 heads, ls6 intake, longtubes, ported Tb, and a Tick Sns stage 2 cam, 231/235 .617 .621.

Ive read that a few different vendors offer these heads with hand porting and powered metal guides to allow use of the stock rockers.

Id like to be able to buy the heads fully done and ready to install from one place, what i got in mind is the 220 heads touched up, with the metal guides, milled to achieve 11-11.5 compression, good quality dual springs, push rods and head gaskets.

Hoping some vendors step in with input, i'm open to other ideas also. Thanks.

I'd go through Tooley for the TFS 220s, his work on them is nice and is affordable especially compared to a CNC'd aftermarket head

I wonder how much difference in these TF220 heads vs MMS220 heads? Price? Flow? Interest to see compared package!

both can make great power with a cam well matched to each head. The TFS I'll say is a little bit cheaper than the MMS head.

From personal experience - the Mamo heads will give you the ability to make bigger power with a more moderate cam. Seen great numbers off the TFS220's as well.

Latest thread that showed impressive numbers....
https://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-internal-engine/1807334-btr-tfs-220-results.html

I'm sure a cam from Tooley would had made more power since after all he helped design those TFS heads so I'm go say he knows them better than anyone else and really know what the heads want.
Same goes for Tony Mamo with his MMS head....

So basically you can't go wrong with either because they boils down to being similar? Just one may be a little cheaper than the other?

There is a pair of Brian Tooley hand touched up 220s in the classifieds right now with powdered metal guides and his .660" lift spring kit for $1800. I nearly bought them last week.

You may also take a hard look at the PRC As-Cast Head

We hand work all the PRC as cast heads prior to shipping so they are fully hand blended. Furtermore the PRC as cast heads have cnc shaped guides for added air flow. It's easy to see if you compare ports that additional airflow is offered with the PRC Head. The As-Cast head make lots of power, and is priced to make is a no brainer for all the customers comparing them.

Every set uses the factory rocker arms, and can come with the powered metal guides or bronze guides.

We had a local guy put some of those PRC heads on his 383. Made right at 500rwhp on his setup which was nothing exotic and probably not as **** on the details as a lot of builds reaching that HP number.

I strongly considered them as well before deciding to stay with my 799s. They are insanely good for the price.

People forget or don't know about these heads but they have a lot of good features + seem like they have a lot of potential.
