I got the car finished and had it pulled on the dynojet today. It made 407 rwhp.

I was hoping for 420+......but it's still ok for my first build. The tuner said I needed more exhaust overlap in the cam to make up for my Y pipe and if I were to dual the exhaust I would be closer to 420.

I'll get an x pipe and true duals put on then retune.

Possibly add an Ftp 104 intake, bigger maf, and electric water pump.

Hell I may just put a donkey dick cam in and port the intake too. I would love to see 440 hp!

More overlap would make it more exhaust sensitive. Overlap uses exhaust pulses to pull fresh air into the cylinder, restricted exhaust hinders those pulses.

So I should keep the same cam, and just dual it out? I don't really want to sacrifice low end torque by increasing the cam size.

He said the cam needed to be like 228/238 to make the power I want with the Y pipe. What do you call that difference in duration?

Forget the HP goal and go to the track, if you can row halfway decent you should get an 11 second slip. You have already spent a lot, not listened well and are realizing you could have done better but at this point just enjoy it till this time next year, the time between now and then will let you learn a lot and hopefully get a better idea of what you have vs. what you want.

You landed where you did because you were in a rush to not listen, tear into it again right now and you are just going to make more headaches.

The problem was the shop already had my heads and I went back to get them and send them off to Texas speed to be ported and he said they were already sent off to "Wuero" When in fact he still had them. I basically got the shaft on my head porting job I think.

On top of that, the car broke down the day after I bought it on the side of the road and I needed to get it towed to the nearest shop because I didn't have $300 for a tow to a better shop and it was a Sunday.

So it don't come down to not listening, as I put all the parts you guys told me to put in. In short....I got conned with the heads. And I was rushing because they told me it would only take a week or two to.get my car back when it took over a month of me hounding them daily! I know better now.

Hell I had a blown head gasket and he wanted to reuse my old head bolts! Says he does it all the time.
