02 Z28 stock bottom end G5 X2
412.4 RWHP
395.0 RWTQ
24 degrees of total timing (nitrous)
STOCK HEADS
12 bolt 3.73 gears
315 BFG Drags out back
Lanes True Duals
FLP Headers
Let me start off by saying that LG has gone beyond the call of duty for myself and Chuck (L4m3r) in the past few days.. To start Chuck purchased a 9" from another member in indaiana and Louis offered to pick it up and take it back with him going over 1 hour out of his way... 2nd during the install of the cam we lost one of the retainers around midnight.... Once again Louis comes to the rescue and goes to the shop to save the day AGAIN!......
Also I want to say thanks to CJ Fastest 35th and Tommy Ramair TA 18 for doing the install with me.... (for me ) You guys rock....
Lou the sticker loooks great <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

400+ at the tires is nothing to sneeze at, especially with stock heads!
These things just keep getting better and better. I'm gonna have to step up just so cam only cars don't start whipping my tail! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
Congrats!

Glad to hear you are happy with it, I was quite impressed myself. Setup an appointment for more tuning when you are ready to spray that animal. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Like the name says, new here. Is this Cam (G5X2)designed for mainly stock bore and stroke engines? How would is cam and a set of nice head work on say something like an 382 or even an 422?
Lots of stuff here, getting confused quick. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

So did LG decide to sell the G5X2 outright? I thought he was selling it as an 'install in-shop only' cam. Does this cam really idle well? I read it was a 232/240 .590/.609 112 cam. How in the world could a cam this big possibly idle well? Would it be an okay cam for a car only shifting at 6400 rpm? Would 4.10's help? What kind of power could I expect with ported heads, the X2 cam, LS6 intake and LT headers? I was going to run cutouts after the headers for more power when racing. Would this add power? I hear sometimes it will and sometimes it won't and sometimes it can even hurt you. Thanks.

That really is amazing. Almost 400 RWTQ on stock heads <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> . Congrats to you and LGM

SStolen,
This cam first went in a car with LS6 heads and a good header and reached 463.9 rwhp 430 rwtq.
On an LS1 headed car it did 455rwhp without being fully tuned. It also hit over 460rwhp on another car.
It seems that 460+ rwhp is not a problem on a car with LS6 heads and 11:1 compression.
Here is the graph of the LS6 head and intake manifold,
<img src="http://a6.cpimg.com/image/3A/0A/15808826-82c0-02000180-.jpg" alt=" - " />
As you can see, the power peaks above 460rwhp before 6500, and stays flat. with over 450rwhp for quite a while
Here is the graph of the not fully tuned LS1 car with the package. The tuning will expand the low end, and make the curve more like the first graph. <img src="http://216.143.111.219/site/glen.jpg" alt=" - " />
Again you can see the power at the top hit peak around 6200 and stays flat above that.
We just did a cam only car that hit 412rwhp and 396 rwtq with mufflers and a 12 bolt.
This cam is not an annomoly. It is real without hype. ( well nothing is without hype)
Jason (I8aford) will dyno next week, and we expect good things out of his package also. He has a consertive tune, since it is a mail order tune, and will not have the advantage of being site, but it should be good.
Thanks

Will this cam pass a dyno emissions test with all emissions equiptment present? I would think not. Hmm...sound like my WS6 may be in need of a G5X2...oh no more money$$$!

What kind of springs are needed to work with this cam? Would it be a good cam for an A4 car? I know you can tune just about everything but sometimes it is just not worth it.

One did ~430/~400 with open exhaust, the other did 415/385 through a y-pipe with cats - both with locked converters.
We are able to tune automatics to idle great, but they do take a little more time than a stick car.

Hi,
If you were to put one of these cams on a 114LC you would have a better chance, but this would be considered too agressive to pass the sniffer.
But it would be great in your car <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
Thanks
