Default When changing head gaskets....

Switching from a cometic mls to GM mls. H/C LS1 will have 100-150 nitrous plate. Is it a good/bad idea to use the permatex copper gasket sealant spray?

They are designed to go on dry, as supplied.

All MLS gaskets are designed to go on dry. They're also designed to be used with a proper sealing surface, which most don't have unless both the head and block were finished at a machine shop. For that reason, use the spray.

Ok so we can agree they are "designed to go on dry". If you have two surfaces that aren't freshly machined is it going to "hurt" to use is at extra insurance. I'm doing this because I'm pushing water on WOT and have tried EVERYTHING else but head gaskets. Don't want to do this and still have the same problem.

I've used copper spray on my last two MLS head gasket sets. I agree with above post. Shouldn't be necessary, but in the garage with less than ideal surface finishes, the copper spray is cheap insurance. No harm in using it. No leaks on either of mine.

Thank you very much. You think it will be ok with nitrous?

I honestly think so but I have never used nitrous. I can't imagine why it would be harmful with nitrous.
