Default ticking at 1700 rpms

I have an interesting noise that starts at 1700 rpms and quiets down around 2100 rpms. I attached a video. I have replaced the rockers, pushrods, and ran oil additives to clean the lifters. It might be lifters but usually they make noise on start up. This always makes noise and starts at 1700 rpms. Any ideas?

Its lifter noise, try running 8 ozs of DexIV ATFadded to the oil. Even a full qt of ATF won't damage anything, just don't beat the **** out of it while its in there.

RockinWs6, I did that and it is still there. No clue what it could be, however it sounds like it is coming more from the bell housing and it is a metal to metal sound like something is rubbing at certain RPMs. I did put a Borla exhaust on the car, and it is much louder.. Run it till it explodes I guess.. j/k!

Well it sounds like a lifter from here, but of course there could be other troubles. The atf may not work instantly, I would try it for a few 100 miles and see what happens.

A month ago or so you had this same post and i showed you this video, also i told you i would help you diagnose the problem, whether be it a lifter pitting/flat spot in the making or be it something else as in your clutch or whatnot, though i didn't go into depth on how to, but you can quickly find out if it is a lifter or not.. its really simple.. again i will help you 100% for free if your into DIY ( skype me @ the404man_osborne )

this sound started out only at higher rpms then once the lifter became more worn it turned into what you hear in this video...

Edit: you said you replaced the rockers and pushrods well ok so then you can totally also do this simple test to find out if its a lifter or not if your interested in doing this let me know and ill do a write up.. or we can chat on skype.. itd be much easier to chat on skype, i will say this in short, it involves removing one rocker and pushrod and injector at a time and replacing until the sound goes away, if sound does not go away, its not a lifter..

Edit: Also to check for rod knock, just remove one spark plug wire at a time until the noise goes away or is greatly affected, then you know which one if any peace

Uhhh, that sounds like a rod knocking. Pull the oil pan and check the rod bearings.... My mr2 had a worn rod bearing due to being redlined immediately upon startup (throttle stuck), and it only knocked at certain rpms.

Is this car stock? How many miles on it? Can you pinpoint the location, i.e., is it coming from the motor or the torque tube? If you can pick up a stethoscope at Autozone and locate it that would help immensely. I wouldn't count out the rubber couplers on the driveshaft but need more information.

Thanks to everyone for all the feedback! The404man, Ill definitely take you up on some remote tech support. The car is stock, I am going to get a stethoscope this weekend and get to work. I don't think its rod knock as i have great oil pressure, the car runs great with no diminished performance or noise at idle. Just about 16-1700 rpms there is that ticking noise and it goes through 2000 rpms and quiets down.

Classic LS1 lifter noise, continue with the atf. If the atf doesn't stop the noise I would look at 2 things. O ring at the oil pickup tube AND replace the lifters. You could also add some TransX 3-4 ozs to help clean the lifters and seal the o ring. The reason I tell you these things is you have nothing to lose at this point and these product will not cause any damage. Good Luck

Make sure you listen to the torque tube as well. Might be best to use the stethoscope through the shift boot (remove or pull up and set aside the boot) so you have direct access to the torque tube.
