I had a squealing when I first started mine also. And I had soaked it in oil prior, also cranked the engine over a few times to build oil pressure before having it fire up. The noise did go away after building some heat into the valvetrain. I plan on changing the oil after breaking in my clutch and going to a quality 10w30 and see if that helps. Valavetrain noise seems about the same otherwise imo...but then again my car is rather loud regardless.

What is it with the valve trains on the LS platforms? I've never heard of such issues. Seems like to get a reliable set up, you need to spend 1k on rockers. I've never had these kind of problems with the Gen I SBC/BBC stuff.
Still hoping the outcome of the Straub kits is positive.

The original design was probably causing a lot of endmills to break and using a lot of tools. When they started milling into that shoulder area with that small of an endmill, it probably broke the minute it got a little dull. Plus, who knows if they were even using the correct endmill.
The new design is pretty simple with just a single pass. Cuts the cycle time down and reduces tool costs. Whether it is as efficient at getting oil to the surface as the old style is another issue. It probably would not have been a bad idea to put a small groove right in the center of the trunion where the bushing rides to make sure oil get to the surface bearing the load, but I am sure they found this was not needed during their prototype testing.

Just changed my oil. Long over due. Just the same as it went in. I have a filter on my turbo supply line as well. Cleaned that and no junk in there either. I believe something might have happened on the install. They are plenty of people on here that do the conversion often if one isn't wanting to do it themselves.

Just for my knowledge are you stating that your oil change was extended past the normal schedule of change and still looked as new as the fill time?
With a Turbo? Man you must have some snake oil magic.
Not sure I'm following your last statement in bold, would you mind elaborating for me?

Well. overdue for me isn't normal schedule any how. I usually change it every ten runs or so. I like to keep close tabs on everything. No snake oil magic LOL. I know I just push the car to the edge a lot. Just saying if one hasn't done it and maybe don't really know how. There are people on here that would probably do it.

They went in nice and smooth a previous post states the press fit calculations. I used an arbor press with SS machined face washers to press each bushing to depth.
The squealing on initial startup is where the bronze media came from guaranteed.
All of the rockers spun nice and smooth and were lubricated as stated in a previous post.

I can say the install of my bushings were the same..went perfectly well.Every rocker smoothly rotated better than butter. The only thing that wasnt so perfect as i mentioned a few posts ago was that when i reused the stock bolts, the chrome plating on most of them had come off when fully torqued down.I had to unbolt them and clean them and retorque the rockers.I believe my set was the early design.I have yet to change my oil to see if there were a bronze tinge to it or metal.I might have time next weekend to confirm this.I wasnt overly concerned that something was wrong..i assumed the valvetrain would need to be heated cycled and have steady oil pressure built up and the noise didnt last long at all.
