Default Vindicator Cam Questions

I plan to eventually get the Vindicator cam from Vengeance Racing. Just curious about supporting mods I would need to do to my pretty much stock LS1 to accommodate the cam and optimize my results.
http://vengeanceracing.net/index.php...596-112-4.html

1. I have a set of stock LS3 valve springs, will those work with this cam?
2. Do the valve guides on stock 02 LS1 heads (241?) have to be milled down to make room for the lift?
3. Can I use my stock pushrods?
4. Do I need to use bigger fuel injectors or can I get by with the stockers for now.

Keep in mind I'm a poor blue collar worker with a very small budget and I have to plan things out in order to make this happen. I plan also to do headers and electric cut-outs when I do the cam swap and of course a new timing chain and oil pump. Also will be swapping to 3.90 gears in the stock 10 bolt rear and pray nothing breaks (I know, I know, I'm cheap. lol). After all this, will have it all dyno tuned.

Stock LS3 springs- No. Guides are fine. Pushrods technically you could but they could bend aftermarket would be ideal in stock length. Stock injectors will work.

1. The LS3 springs will not work with this high of a lift camshaft. Any .650-.660" lift spring will be fine, and we do recommend duals for the added insurance in case one were to ever fail.
2. The OEM valve guides will be fine.
3. We HIGHLY recommend a hardened pushrod on this to prevent from bending as mentioned prior.
4. Stock injectors will likely work, but will be maxed on duty cycle. I'd recommend trying to pick up a set of 36lb if you have access to them in your budget.

I certainly understand building on a budget, but the items mentioned above are going to save you possible damage in the future with that aggressive of a camshaft. Feel free to call or e-mail me at david@vengeanceracing.net if you have any other questions or need help in ordering.

Thank you!

And you will need to notch the pistons to clear the valves with that cam.

And there goes the budget.....I would recommend looking for a less aggressive cam. You are better off just saving up longer and then getting all the right parts.

On stock head/piston applications we always recommend measuring PTV, but I have several LS1's and LS6's running the camshaft with no fly-cutting needed.

Thanks all for the info. I just want a "max effort" cam without going through a full rebuild... yet.
I like the characteristics of the Vindicator and was just wondering what I needed to go with that cam.
Will this cam respond well to nitrous?

with a "max effort" cam, comes "max effort" valve train to handle
it. there's no other way around that. dual springs, hardened rods,
and accurate push rod measurements are essential.

Vindicator would be a good cam for a 383 or a mild 402.

Being you actually asked if you can use ls3 springs and stock pushrods, I would say the vindicator cam is not for you.

Not trying to talk him out of anything...I am saying do the research and install the supporting mods for that cam or do not install that cam. Stock LS3 springs and push rods are not even close. Also that cam is going to need a Fast intake, steep gear, big headers, more compression. Not something I would run cam only even though people have done it.
