Default Spend my money

Looking at getting heads/ cam/ intake for my Denali. Need your guys input on a set up my buddy has he wants to sell me. He has a brand new set of 821 ls3 heads complete, with Brian tooley dual rate springs with titanium retainers, and gm rockers brand new, new morel lifters, gm head gaskets, a comp cam I wouldn't use thats new, and Brian tooley push rods, a ls3 intake that brand new all straight from gm all for $1200. Again everything is brand new.

I plan on a 408 later but not for another year or more. Just wondering with the right cam what I should expect. I know I'll lose torque which is what I don't want to do but was wondering how much. I can mill the heads to for compression if it will help. Just want a little more help from people who have done a ls3 top end and what you thought and if your happy with it. Also what cam would someone recommend to keep my torque number up?

I'd do it. It's a 6L block? You could go with a pretty mild cam from BTR custom for the build. With the right cam, you won't lose much low end torque.

I had a similar set up in a silverado ext cab. ... id say thats a good set up.. just get a good cam specd .. for that monster to move off the line... i milled my heads .030 to give me 64cc .. my compression was around 11:8:1 ..a 3200 stall... a cam along the lines of 230/244/114lsa ahould be good.

It is the 6.0, that's what I figured with the right cam it would help with torque

Did you ever have it dynoed? Just curious what I would be around wheel hp. I'll most likely mill them to give me a bump in compression

I would be inclined to do something like this... But you could do 112+4 or 111+4 to bring the torque in earlier.

Yes with the idler relocation bracket. I had a ls6 intake and then a fast 102 on my s10 with truck accessories and the relocation bracket before swapping to c5 accessories
