Question Torquer V2 w/243 Heads Tips

I have the chance to get a set of stock 243 heads with lunati 660 springs and a torquer v2 cam, specs are 232/234 595/598 lift on a 112 lsa. Cam and springs have 500 miles on them, heads have 40k. Person is asking $850 for the lot of it. Would this be a good combo for my lid, headers, dual 3" exhaust ls1? Thanks everyone!

Edit: I ended up buying the heads and cam so now I'm looking for tips on what to do while I have everything apart.

Yes that's a good combo. With hand ported 799s and V2 cam on 111lsa my brothers car made 440 rwhp.

I'm running FMS F14 cam 232"/234" .598"/.598" 112LSA with hand ported 799s. My car is in same neighborhood probably little more though.

You would be in the 400s for sure with proper tuning.

I would love to have 400hp haha. How about the price, is it reasonable?

799's probably sell for 400 used. WS6store sells cam kits with BTR springs for like 620. If the pushrod length ends up something other than what your getting with the used stuff you may have a added expense there vs buying new and getting what you need.

He didn't specify if its coming with the pushrods and lifters. Is there a chance the stock ones will work? Is there a way to calculate what pushrod length is necessary before installing?

Stock Pushrods will not work. Around $100 for them anyway.
Lifters stock will work but for how long is up in the air. With the heads off you might as well upgrade them.

Well I went ahead and bought them with all of you're encouragement. Can't wait to get those on there. Is there a way to figure out the needed pushrod length before installing it? Also what is recommended to do while I have the top end apart? I imagine replacing the timing chain is one of them.

with heads and cam I would
Change lifters
New oil pump
Timing chain
arp crank bolt. the stock one is a one and done bolt so you need a new one anyway
maybe pulley if you can swing it too

Thanks Formula, any suggestions on brands for these parts? I heard LS7 lifters were good, suggestions on oil pump and timing chain?

From my reading the morel lifters are the way to go.. I've seen a few threads with ls7 lifter failures.. I think Texas speed has some budget ones #5315 for around $200 I believe..

Get some 5315 lifters, 11/32 push rods, GM LS6 oil pump and chain damper, LS2 chain & lifter trays, ARP crank bolt, and a Powerbond or ATI balancer.
