Default Another LS3 408 Build Thread

I've been going back and forth as to whether or not to post the build in here. I've got some time on my hands and figured I'd need yalls help eventually!

A little history: I picked up a relatively low mileage 98 cayenne metallic red M6 z28 and had full bolt-ons in short order. I installed a TV2 along with some stock 243s. That set up put down 425 rwhp/ 410tq on a dynojet and was a delight, but didn't satisfy me. So spun bearings in November offered me the perfect excuse to build her better.

Here's the parts list for my new set up:

Bottom End:
Lq4 block bored 4.030
used Manley 4" stroke crankshaft 24x
Scat forged rods
Diamond 11519 pistons
ARP main stud kit
Clevite race main & rod bearings
Mahle piston ring set

Top End
Stock l92 heads
ls3 head gaskets
comp cams trunion upgrade
ls3 intake
ProComp head studs
Custom wide split Tick Performance camshaft
ebay 92mm tb

The motor is getting assembled over at G&G Performance in Tomball, and I've been trying to prep everything for a smooth install...wish me luck! Lately, I've been dicking around with a few odds and ends in anticipation of putting this thing back together...

A big s/o to all of ls1tech's major contributors too. I've never done any of this before, all the info on here has given me the confidence to take this on by myself!

purchased a torque arm from Founders, seems like a quality piece.
went ahead and mounted it...there seems to be a little rubbing against the my TSP true duals, but won't know if it's an issue until i get her on the street.

motor should be ready any day now, just trying to keep myself busy...
painted my tb and ls3 intake cover, the intake cover paint was a close enough match so I figured I'd give it a try. Had to take a dremel to it to fit the new tb bracket needed to run a cable driven tb.

I hope it is not to late

i would recommend you to add more compression for your combo

i have a similar build : full bolt ons 402 with cnc ls3 gm program and milled them 30 and added a cometic 40

t56 and dana s60 made 510rwhp 466rwtq std dyno jet

Good luck with the build man

Okay, I ran my specs on a web static compression ratio calculator (I don't know my TDC deck height yet) and came in around 11.1. That's too low? I still want to run pump gas.

What's the recommendation here?

mill the L92s .03
run cometic .040 gaskets

With the tb being 90mm I'd atleast get an 85mm gm maf

it will be wise to choose the sd route 4'' straight and leave potintial to grow in future.

and by using the f body maf or delphi maf you are restricting the air path by forcing the 90mm tb to breath through 85mm or so ...

i went with NW 102MM and ftp 104mm speed densty tune to keep my setup ready for future ls3 intake style brake through (vararam vrx or fast new runners...etc)

use this Spectre Performance 9770 4" 22.5° EPDM Flex Boot and you will thank me
