Default Oil pump question

Im doing an LSA supercharged LQ4 build. I ordered an LSA oil pump figuring it would work well, but in further reading it seems that it is a high volume pump compared to other LS oil pumps. I'm concerned with oil starvation. Does anybody see oil starvation being as issue with the LSA pump with an F body pan on my motor?

LSA is a dry sumped engine...I'd use the Melling hi psi/std vol.

when I did my cam swap I replaced my stock pump with the LS6 pump (unmodified) which I believe is now the factory replacement. My car has 65k miles on it and my oil pressure went up about 5-7psi across the board. Hot, in idle I have about 45-50psi on the factory gauge. and about 60 with the revs up. More than enough for 95% of the hot rodded engines on here. too many people go overboard with pressure and just waste HP turning the pump. same with valve springs, the put too strong springs on and waste HP that way too. an easy trap to fall into. my .02

makes sense guys, thanks. Yeah I have my valve springs matched for my Cam. another thing to note that people do is go overboard on valve springs and that's putting more stress on the timing chain as well.

LS6 would be high volume stand pressure, or Melling 10295 would be standard volume high pressure for others reading this.

Pretty sure it's wet sump just like any other LSx not the 7 or 9.

Either way, that's a good unit to use. Go with the 10295 if you have standard bearings, 10296 if you have looser clearances in the bottom end.

stock bottom end so 10295 it is. im looking at the ported ls6 as well from texas speed but thats probably overkill. also the LSA pump i ordred is wet sump yes

It's not overkill by any means when it comes to oiling unless you go crazy with flow while lacking reserves. $100 extra spent on something that will save your $10,000 engine is money well invested in my book.

Although I would still choose the 10295 over a ported LS6.
