If you have to ask....
I think you know the answer is
Yes!

For a Strip/street car (hard top) with a FAST 102
still a very large cam for 346" IMO.

If all you want it to do is sound cool and shake the car...you've picked the right cam.

If you don't want to start to make power until 6000 rpm...you've piced the right cam.

If you want a cam that's going to make optimal power under the curve, have usable torque and retain decent drivability, you've picked the wrong cam.

Did you tell him that you rarely drive your car and you wanted a very aggressive cam? Because that's the only way I see him recommending that cam. I'm running the LS2 version (slightly tighter LSA) in a 375" 11.5:1 motor with ported heads and a 102mm LSXrt intake and I'm expecting it to be barely livable as a daily. Even with a 3800 stall and 4.30 gears.

These guys are right on the money. With your setup a smaller cam will actually be faster overall

I told him that I would like to have 380 to 400 rwhp and some strip runs once or twice a year. We will get it figured out on monday. Really looking for the torque not a high winder.

This cam will give a great peak number on the dyno, but usable torque not so much lol

Your last post confirms you purchased the wrong cam. The V2 is going to want lots of rpm and going to have substantially less tq down low. A bit of research would of yielded that the sweet spot for a LS1 is in the 228/232 range for all around performance/drieve-ability. The SNS stage 2 would of been my choice for a Tick cam.

Sorry don't know alot about the ls1. That's why I asked the professionals what I need. Have been Reading too much garbage also. Hopefully this will be straightened out easily enough on monday. Again thanks for the input .

Search my threads and you'll see discussion about my spec for a reverse split grind. Something worth looking at imo

Good info Maroon! Pretty much at the mercy of a tick cam now that I gave him the money lol. The stage 2 sns looks like it will have to be enough for now. I just hope if I upgrade heads or bottle feed it down the road I won't be looking for another cam. Unfortunately the pockets aren't deep enough for this sh*t.

Agreed the performance results with that cam and your particular setup including the 3600 converter just aren't going to perform very well. Give those guys a call again and be honest with them about what you are looking for. I honestly feel like you'll be much better with something in the high 220s low 230s unless you plan to make other changes to your current setup to get it to perform correctly.

Not at all. 400 rwhp can be had with a much milder camshaft than you currently have purchased. Also with a much more usable and practical rpm range for your application/ intended use.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. Been turning this over in my head since I ordered on friday afternoon. Just want a respectable 60 ft time the rest will be there at the end. Now it's time to figure out rear tires and rims.......
