Motor:
stock 99 5.3 shortblock, lightly ported 862s, (cam of your spec), Morel 5315 lifters, either stock or moly PR (unless I can find some cheap 3/8" PRs), Just ordered the Howards beehives which have .600" max lift (I believe), stock valves/retainers, stock rockers with straub bushings, stock truck intake and TB, 72lb injectors, centrifigual Supercharger pushing 10psi at 5200rpms on stock motor and makes boost very quickly like 1700rpms.

Drivetrain:
2004R billet internals from CK performance
10" 2400 stall, Billet converter with HD lockup
Dennys 3" nitrous ready driveshaft
ford 8.8, 3.55s traclock with SVO carbon fiber clutches

Mostly stock 87 formula 350 with TA bodykit, 8pt roll bar. I would assume 3300 curb weight, 3500lb with me in it or less.
Based on what you said was important to you, I would go with a 214/226 on 116+5. I think you can pick up great power without hurting your off idle performance.

We can go on the conservative side with .561" or more aggressive with .598" with a good beehive springs. Your choice

Interesting choice. Why the 116.5 vs a 114 etc. 116 is like stock no? Lift would rather be low on the .561 as the springs I have coming are only good for .600 max lift. I also doubt the 862 head castings will flow more above a .500 lift anyways.

Give me a call. We can talk about it in detail.

Just updating. Just finished up the last head porting Saturday. And retrofitted some stock rockers with the straub bushing kit yesterday. carbide slipped and ran across the head deck surface but it's not deep enough to catch your finger nail on it. Going to throw some GM OE LS1 MLS gaskets at it. Still looking into the cam.

heres my dilemma though... Got a bead on a 6.0 with very low mileage, long block, LS7 lifters, used comp 224/224 .58" cam for a turbo, stock 317s with PAC 1218s. I would need a pan and an intake and balancer. I know the cam isn't ideal for a centri supercharger. Cam swap isn't a big deal with the motor out. So now do I keep the 5.3, throw the heads at it with the stock cam. Throw the heads on with the LQ9 cam. Heads and a custom cam. Or leave it alone.

build the 6.0 on the side and throw a cam and stock truck intake with fbody oil pan. I know the 6.0 would net me more power but I'm not looking for a ton. But I like that the motor only has like 38k on it. Guy was building it for a turbo setup so it had arp rod bolts and head bolts already and Lq9 head gaskets.

Figures i would find this after dropping $450 into the 862 heads lol.

Just updating.

Ordered a custom cam through cam motion... hopefully it will be worth it!

collecting parts still. Got some pushrods coming, new stock truck intake sitting waiting, retrofitted spare LS rockers with straub bushing kit and got a cheap full gasket kit. Also ordered a flowkooler high flow LS1 water pump. Going to order GM MLS head baskets and remflex header gaskets, LS2 trays and bolts.

next thing is going to be pulling everything out to yank the motor out. Ugh.
