Default Which head would you choose

Looking at getting opinions of these two heads that I have come down to choose. I am looking between the MMS 220s by Tony Mamo or a set of Trick Flow 225s with nitrous ports from Brian Tooley. Whichever heads I go with either of them will also be doing the cam specs on a cam motion LLSR grind. Background on the car.
3k race weight camaro
Th400 with pro torque/FTI/UCC converter that will tailored to the combo
346 bottom with Vic Jr intake, nitrous stinger plate and 4150 TB
300 shot with a lot of rpm
Alternator and crank only accessories
Will be on E85

Goal 500 on motor, 800+ spray... Mid 5s on kill

the head and cam combo will seem to be around the same price so we can take that out of the equation. My friend Thadd ran the 225s from TEA on his nitrous car and is two on he stock cube list which I am hoping to surpass and at the time the MMS head was not available.

I was against doing another nitrous car and was going to do another turbo car but always wanted a street and strip car which turbo fell in perfectly, but now with having a street car I think it's time to build a track car and go after that record that it seems everyone gave up on and that I tried for a few times already and failed

Every time I head to the track I always hear a TFS headed combo in the winners circle.
With Chris1313 running over 500rwhp with a hydraulic roller in his LS1 with some TFS heads with a automatic... I think you have your answer.

Seems like TFS, AFR/MMS, and Mast are the very best.

Some engine builders swear by Mast heads that they are better than AFR and Trickflow.

Yep I've heard that too on more than one occasion. I'd love to see them compared with the others mentioned

From articles I've seen in various magazines they seem to be really really close.... but in the real world I'm sure there's a difference between them at the track.

Gotcha. My buddy has some Mast 215's that were worked over a bit. With a stock FBO LS2, big cam, and Fast 92 it made just over 500 rwhp and with a killer torque curve. No fancy or lightweight valve train either

It's not on your list but I would actually choose the Mamo 235 for your goals. Will support higher rpm, maybe sacrifice some midrange.

For a street/strip the 235 is better suited to larger bore, but in your case, I think it's a smart move.

MMS 235s will not fit on a Bore less than 4.00" valves are too big.
I would run MMS 220s with a Cam Motion LLSR specced by
Tony, his customer service AFTER the sale can't be beat.

I been thinking about this thread and this build. Come to think about this engine or build is go LIVE LIFE at 7000 plus rpm and with a single plane intake. I'll be willing to say your car would be potent with a small bore LS3 head from mast motorsports.

240cc intake runner 12 degrees and they flow 350 cfm at 650 lift intake

I checked into MAST before I posted this up and emailed them because the site says the 215s are sold out and haven't got a reply on when they will be back in stock so I didn't include them for that reason.

As far as the MAST small bore LS3 I looked into them a while ago and thought about it, but I think that 240 may be too big if that is truly a thing.

I am leaning towards the 225 TFS with a nitrous exhaust port, but will be emailing Tony this weekend and get his thoughts on what his head has to offer a combo like this. I know how well the TFS perform but with the great numbers that the MMS head is putting out on NA street motors with little cams it's hard to imagine how potent it will be on a true all out setup

You can't go wrong with either set of heads. The most important thing you said was that whatever head you go, you'll have that particular head designer/vendor spec the cam. That's very smart on your end.

Having owned the Mast small bore LS3's... No the intake port isn't too big. You'll give up a bit below 4k RPM but you're not going to be there long anyway. The Masts are slightly more expensive, but you can run a stock LS3 intake which is phenomenal as-is, no need for a FAST and all that.

Just an idea.
