Heres a thread that may interest you as I fought down through the 11s with a H/C setup

Wow, there is a lot of info on that thread. I'm on page 6 and looking forward to reading the rest. Funny that the short time I've been on ls1tech, your posts have always stood out to me due to the photo of your red SS pulling the front 10 spokes off the ground.

Thanks for the link.

Glad to see you are going to be quicker next year OP! I would opt for the aftermarket castings honestly. You won't be out much more money after you sell your 799's.

I would go AI 226, and a ~226/230 from CamMotion or EPS. Very nice torque curve for the power level.

http://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/...o-results.html

I just helped a friend swap a CamMotion 227/231 cam (very close to the cam above) in his C5. Love the power band. We did the Straub trunnion upgrade which I recommend. Morel 5315s also went in.

AI can clearance the heads for 3/8" pushrods which will likely gain a few HP up top.

I would not port the LS6 intake but would save for a FAST90 at a later time.

01SSReda4, your thread really helps me keep my expectations in line doing while considering heads/cam. I was really hoping that the heads/cam would take me from 12.0 to low 11's. In reality, I suspect I'll be doing good to get 11.50's with the mid sized cam I'm considering(224/228 .605). I did buy another pair of 10 spokes with Hoosier DOT's on it, so I won't have to fight with traction.

I'm also keeping my eye out for a deal on a Fast 90 or 92. As bad as I hate to part with more money, it makes sense to swap it while I'm there before the tune. I can port it myself.

For heads and cam, I've about decided to buy the heads and cam from the same place at the same time. I feel that buying them together will help the vendor match things up for me(CC, pushrods).

So many options with heads/cam. Still considering:
AI 226's with 224/228 .605
AI 226's with 230.238
TSP PRC 225's with 228R
TSP stg 1 with 228R

Progress since starting this thread (updated in 1st post):
- Racetronix kit installed (still need to check PSI but runs great)
- purchased Morel 5315 lifters
- purchased GTP injectors

It all depends on how well you can hook it. Just because you make another 80-100whp does not mean you will drop a second off your ET as I posted in your other thread. That would be best case scenario with suspension dialed in and pulling a 1.4-1.5 60ft. The faster you go the harder it becomes to shave those tenths off.

If you're looking at AI, check out their Dart/RHS heads. To my knowledge, I'm the only one running them on here. I just made 447 rwhp and 431 rwtq with those heads and a custom Cam Motion cam. That was with a bone stock LS6 intake and bone stock TB.

I'm hoping the Hoosiers I bought will help with traction. I probably need to at least get some rear drag shocks to add to my rear. I'm definetely learning that the faster you go, the harder it gets.

That's impressive numbers. I'm curious what cam numbers you used. I'll research your name and find it....unless you want to share.

How much lift?

That's pretty close to the 1st cam(230/238 .605) that Phil spec'ed for me. How happy are you with it?

.621" intake and .596" exhaust. I'm happy with it. It honestly drives just like the car did with the old cam, which was a 227/235 110 LSA. The new cam made more power and torque everywhere in the curve.

This gives me hope of hitting my 450 goal.. I'll be running the 226cc 243s from AI and a 230/236 .620/.603 112+2 with a fast 92/92 and other supporting mods including 1 7/8 headers.. I'm glad to hear it drives pretty well also!

OP, as mentioned I think the 60 ft is key for 1/4 mile times.. with my set up listed in my signature with 18" nitto nt05(not good for the track lol) I was hitting 2.2 or higher 60 ft and running high 13s at 109 because I was burning through first gear.. threw my 15" drag rims on (275/50/15 MT drag radials), removed my sway bar, and added an UD pulley.. I was cutting 1.7 60 ft and 12.1 @ 111.. I grabbed. 1.6 on one pass and hit a 12.02 but red lighted... couldn't hook the rest of the day.. all in all it shows you how much good tires make a difference.. my car has horrible suspension as well.. lowered roughly 1.8" and doesn't transfer weight at all..

Awesome to hear. Any sound clips?

I totally agree. Right there with you on mods and E/T's. I never went below 2.0 60 until I got the SS3600 and Toyo TQ's. Then it was consistent 1.70 60's running low 12's. I got a bargain on a set of Hoosier DOT's mounted on 10 spokes so traction should be good to go with more power. I have LCA's with relo's but might spring for some single adjust rears to help the 60'.

Wow, the more I look at the Fast 90 or 92, the more expensive it gets. Intake, TB, bigger MAF, bigger LID. Remember, I started with "considering a cam", LOL. Now its cam, pushrods, lifters, oil pump, ported heads, dual valve springs, injectors and so on. I can't decide whether to lay down or grab an brew.
