That's a good question, honestly. higher gears will dyno lower, but move th car faster. Odd experience, but When I first put the 4.11 gears on my car, from 3.42, I was honestly unimpressed. Sort of pissed actually. I took vids and sent to some friends, and they said to go look at my old vids - car was faster for sure. But then, I put 28" tires in, and the car moved ALOT faster. That's like saying the car was faster on 3.90 than it was on 4.11.

So, short answer, but for a street car, I'd go with the 3.90 or 4.11 gears. If you already have the 4.30 gears in, I'd leave them. if you are running a short *** tire, then get lighter wheels and taller tires instead of regearing.

The car had 4:10s and I wasn't impressed.when I had the mwc fab 9 built I went with the 4:30 gear and car is a whole lot better.but that could be to the new torque arm lcas,and strange shocks because wheel hop has been totally eliminated. And car feels all around faster no slop in take off

Then I'd leave it as is and just build the top end. Again, if you decided you wanted less gear, just go with taller tires - unless you're already 28"

If you are getting the heads from Tony, you can probably ask him what cam he suggests for his heads.

Just something to think about, the. BBK is basically like an LS6 intake... it's really going to be the limiting factor in flow. If you plan on going wilder in the future with intake mods and a big cam etc then a bigger head is fine but you might want to consider a smaller runner if not going that route. Just about any ported factory casting and aftermarket casting will outflow the intake. I would look at any 205-215 aftermarket casting in this instance, of course Tony or Brian or whoever you choose will point you in the right direction with your goals now and later. Consider too you likely have 806 perimeter bolt heads so covers and coil brackets become an expense among other unique things.

I'm no fan of the BBK by any stretch, but mainly for weight and heatsoak. The BBK is a very short runner intake with a 85mm mouth. It might be a phenomenal boost intake- again except for the heat soak because aluminum.

OP, if you haven't already, checkout the Advanced Induction Dart/RHS 223cc heads. Fully CNC'd aftermarket castings and are at a very reasonable price. I have them and they made 447 rwhp and 431 rwtq, and that's with a bone stock LS6 intake and unported TB.

IIRC AI doesn't do the dart heads anymore according to Phil last time I spoke with him. It's been a while so maybe things have changed.

I purchased my set several years ago and actually got them at a price lower than what was advertised. It's a shame if they aren't because they are very high quality heads that make great power.

I thought that was only true with the AFR castings - like his 220's and 235's.

His sportsman heads are worked over trickflow castings. Pedastals should be the same as a trickflow 220.

For the price they were, and after looking at your build I asked him about them for my car and he told me they stopped selling them. This was a year and a half ago.

OP if you're ready to pull the trigger on heads right now there's a set of TFS 215 w/ rockers and AFR 210 classified section.

So they are his hand finished TFS 220s? Interesting.

I know his work on the TFS LS3s and LS7s have taken them to the next level.

Could be an issue with getting the castings. I believe RHS bought out the Dart castings, as my heads are stamped with the RHS logo.

I'm not sure if they are hand-worked TFS-220 or if he has contracted with them for a custom casting based off the TFS-220. I just know that they are based on that casting.

Tony won't attach his name to something that runs poorly, though, so either way it's bound to be a great head. I'm sure he could do quite alot with a TFS245.

The heads that are on the car now have roller rockers
in them was just gonna reuse those.....
