We do still sell the Comp Cams Retrofit rocker upgrade kit as well as the lunati (same kit). We sell the entire lineup from CPG (Comp Perf Group) such as FAST, Zex, Comp Cams, Englise, etc. Some dont sell as good as others like zex vs nitrous outlet, but we offer their entire lineup.

I have said before Tech is a microcosm of the ls world and we get a small sampling of what actually goes on world wide or even nation wide. Of course everyone goes on the net and searches for issues and posts up, but very rarely do you hear of someone posting up because something was good. Go through the sponsor feedback section and see how many new threads there are vs complaints in any of the sub forums on tech.

We merely wanted to offer another option to give people peace of mind that do not have the ability to install these themselves, dont have the budget for $400+ rockers or $350 for the stock rockers with bushing upgrade or dont have rockers to start with.

So these are:
Melling made trunions
Chinese bearing
Stock GM rockers
Put together by Melling
Correct melling trunion, c&u needle bearings (a chinese company), stock rockers and assembled by melling.

I am currently talking to C&U America to find out exactly which worldwide facility these are made in if they will tell me of course which they should.

Seriously though, what other company would go this far to vet and test a product and make the info public without being asked even?

If i had i wife, this is exactly how i imagine our day to day conversations would be.

Its fairly close to my most recent ex gf yet no one has stolen my phone to scroll through pics, texts, and pms to try and start an argument that doesnt exist....yet....

Please don't take that as me attacking your company. I understand Tech is a small sample, but with the recent "firestorm" of failures, I was more so curious y'alls take on the "issue" vs still selling that kit.

Always good to have options and it is much appreciated. I have never bought from WS6store/RPMSpeed, but from everything I have read I wouldn't hesitate to do business with y'all. That post was merely consolidating what has been said in the thread so people would hopefully quit asking about components of these.

No offense taken. We sell both the comp and the Straub trunion kits. We have sold a few harland sharp in the past also.

Obviously the Straub are the most popular right now. I cannot say there is a 100% definitive answer on the comps and are not outright bashing them either. We will get a customer any product we offer, but we will also give them our professional opinion and experience as well. Agaim these are another afforable already assembled option with the components and tech support needed to ensure they work well.

Honestly i was prepared to have to justify to the masses why we do not recommend them for solid roller setups, but the hang up isnt on that. Cant prepare for everything i guess.

I had Summit brand, that use American made trunions and bearings believe it or not. Unfortunately, the trunions are crap as they are made from 4140 material case hardened to 50 HRc. So I made new trunions out of 52100 hardened to 62 HRc with the Summit bearing ans they are working great. We made a set a while ago for my buddy's daily driver and he has 31k on it now with no signs of wear.

Unfortunately, the cost of the trunions would not make them a competitive alternative to the bushing options available right now.

2k atm. so 1k left. itll be another week or so. i drive ALOT and sometimes i tow heavy loads.

Its stock 05 6.0 cam, 243 heads, 288k 6.0l 4x4 with 4l80. So the engine has some miles on it lol. I put on a melling 10295 and new timing chain, ls7 lifters pushrods and 243 heads on at 217k. The 243 heads have ls6 yellow springs on em. So not a huge cam only build, but a small hybrid of parts.

I would say you are getting a better finish on your trunnion going by the photo. Can you say what the Rockwell hardness difference is between the two, IF it is supposed to be different? I had thought one issue w/ Comp trunnions was it is too soft.

I cannot say on the Rh of the comp trunion. The Rh of our trunion was tested to 59-60.

Do you have a Rh tester? I would be REAL curious as to the Comp trunnion's Rh. I think that is where the difference is. They just got too easily chewed up, in my opinion.

No. these were results from an outside lab. tested heat treat, surface roughness, hardness, crystalline structure, and actual chemical makeup.

Oh OK. A Rh test isn't hard(poor word choice, lol) just need the tester. I used one in college about a century ago, nothing to it.
